I'd like to share all the verses I've put into a list with a friend who has Logos. Can I email him a file for him to import?
If so where do I find it? I can't find a folder of Logos recourse's in Windows 8?
Can I email him a file for him to import?
What sort of list have you used? Is it, for example, in a Notes File or a Passage List? Is it in a Personal Book?
If a Notes File or Passage List then you can't simply extract that and email it to your friend (the information is held within databases not individual files). But you could share it via a Faithlife group. This would involve setting up a Faithlife group, inviting your friend to join it and then sharing the document. It is relatively straight-forward to do - if you want to go down this route and need further guidance please advise.
If a Personal Book then you can send the .docx file which your friend could then compile into Logos.
Or you could extract the list (using the "Print/Export" option) and email the resulting file.
If this doesn't give you what you need please provide a few more details.
Thanks for the quick reply Graham. YA it's a Passage List.
I've long said that Logos need to simplify and develop the export and Import process like most any program can work with. Like PDF files, CSV files, or doc files.
You can export a Passage List - use the Print / Export option from the menu under the top-left icon
Yes you can, but unless I'm missing the obvious, you can't import that same file into someone else's Logos.
The data base should be able to recognise the References, and import them into another data base. I'm thinking [:)]
Actually you can in the case of Passage Lists as they can be created by scanning a text file (for example) but for document sharing the recommended approach is the Faithlife collaboration environment which does this sort of thing very well
Document sharing is one thing. But I'd like for him to be able to edit it. Add to it, or delete from in within Logos as though he created the list.
Maybe Faith Life will allow that. I'll check.
I think if he downloads the list from Faithlife via document sharing, it will be a regular Passage List for him and he'll be able to edit it on his installation of Logos. He could then share it back with you. However I'm not sure the two of you could do simultaneous edits and share those with each other, without overwriting each other's changes. Faithlife document sharing doesn't allow full collaboration that way, as far as I'm aware, though I haven't used it much myself so I could be mistaken.

It's very easy. I just went to https://documents.logos.com/?offset=0&sortType=Date&sortOrder=Descending&deleted=False&privacy=All&documentKind=PassageList
(which is http://documents.logos.com already filtered for passage lists), took one passage list I once created and by using the action button published it to a group I'm member of:
- I took Faithlife Beta, a 200+ members group (join here when you aren't already) :
now either from the group's documents tab or from the group's documents.logos.com page (which is here) every member can simply click "Get a Copy" and have it:
It's really a piece of cake and much more convenient than exporting, mailing and/or uploading someplace & mailing an access code, importing
EDIT: Rick, if you share in this "publish" mode, your recipient will have a copy of the document that they can edit just like their own (and those changes won't sync back altering your copy of it either). Try with the Passage list I just shared!
HMM that looks interesting - I'll try that. Thanks a bunch
