• Topic Search

I'm just working with some simple topic searches, I'd like to get a handle on everything Jesus has to say about Money. My idea was to combine {Speaker } with in a single search. The problem is that none of my searches yeild results. For example, searching the ESV in All Passages for the example search yields no hits. The only things that returns results...

  • Topic search

Excellent. I'm delighted to see that my work on the Logos Topics data is a nice added feature. Definately will motivate me to continue to make updates including reading lists which I haven't done yet. However, I would like to have the topic search come up with an item even if there are no entries in the Logos products (entheogen was added to check this...

  • Topic Search: Faceting / Combos

Is it possible to refine a Topic Search? For example, search for the topic "Holy Spirit" but then sub-search for the topic "Salvation"? Trying to find a way to distill the huge amount of information that is returned on some Topics!

  • Topic search

Is there any way to search for specific topics/words without pulling up all the other entries with the same word? In other words, if I want the definition of "worship" in all my dictionaries but don't want to pull up every occurence of "worship" in every sentence, can I do that?

  • Re: Suggestion: Topic Search

I agree that topic search is needed. I certainly don't understand why it would have been dropped. In fact the Wiki entry under topic search is misleading. There doesn't appear to be a "topic" search per se. What happens as far as I can tell is that the Wiki instructions simply invoke a word search. If it happens to surface topics it's simply because...

  • Topic search "The Reformation"

Do others get this result .... search for TOPIC .... "The Reformation" Search defaults to Jean Henri Merle d'Aubigne. Why? Stephen Miller Sydney, Australia

  • Topic Search Progress?

Any news on the generalized topic search front? Specifically, letting the main topic search run through all your dictionaries or a collection? I included a picture that shows a word search vs the topic search and how many more hits I get with the word search.
Please consider bringing back the topic search to Logos 4 as it was in Logos 3 (not just the passage guide edition). THANKS!
I would also like to see this feature return currently it seems as though my topics just get linked to my dictionaries and what not.

You can search for two topics at the same time: AND But I don't think that's what you mean, as Topic Searches generally return hardly any information! Do you mean the Topic Guide, or Factbook?
You guys deserve extra stars for your patience with us newbies. I see what you and Dave are saying, but the nonsense field searches only return the topic search results without having to wait for the complete search to finish. Isn't this what the OP was after? I could think of times this would be useful--for instance when...

  • Saving a Topic Search

Hi, Is there a way to save a Topic Search? As far as I know it is not possible, but perhaps someone knows a trick that I am unaware of. I am researching a topic on the Psalms and I ran a topic search on all resources, which took some time to complete. Unfortunately I have to redo this topic search every time from the beginning. Perhaps there is a method...

imo, the topic search falls way short of L3 I use my 'favorites' menu for a number of things, and this is one... I have a folder with my favorite Bible dictionaries in it.

Gary, I searched "hd:communion" and "communion" and "footnote:communion" the topic search was the same for the nonsense field as it was for the regular search and valid field search. Your search for communion revealed the concept tagging that is sensitive to synonyms.

Anthony, Read the discussion at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/11747/91883.aspx and follow the other links. Basically, perform a Basic Search of your "topic" word, start with the results from a dictionary in the Topic section, and then use the right & left arrow keys to scroll through your other dictionaries.
