• Re: Help with a Topic search please.
So, all we want is to be able to restrict a search to just headwords and table of contents headings.
In its utter simplicity that is what Topics are all about. Headwords = Topics = Section Headers dealing with a subject of interest. IF we were allowed to search for "simeon" in headwords we would have more hits than...

  • Re: Basic Search/Factbook Topic search disparity
It makes no sense at all to think that the search function should not find resources that are tagged for it when Factbook can.
BINGO. Searches for all things tagged with XYZ Topic should find all things tagged with XYZ Topic. Failure to do that is a BUG. Programmer-intended failure to do that is an error in judgment.

  • Is this an inconsistency of Topic Search?

If I use a basic search for " " it returns zero results. If I use Topic Guide I get a fully filled in guide. What is going on here? What am I missing?
I would not expect them to match. The Factbook uses different search syntax for different sections. • Re: Search Journals by Topic

As a topic "bitterness" is associated with "jealousy", "resentment" and "forgiveness" is associated with "pardon", "remission". So, finding an article that connects "bitterness" and "forgiveness" would not necessarily come under either topic . If searching "All Text" you could use: bitterness AND forgiveness But a more fruitful search would be: bitterness...

  • Topic Search in Original Language

Hello. I am still making the transition, slowly but surely, from Libronix to Logos 5. One of the things I used often was "Topic" searches, particularly in my original languages resources grouped into a collection. I figured out how to make a collection, but I have not grasped how to search that collection for the articles particular addressing those...

I am not at a my computer at the moment to test anything out but my initial thoughts are this has not been tagged as a topic in this resource. Not all tagging is applied 'equally' across all resources unfortunately. Have you tried running a search on both heading and large text fields to see what results you get Jim ?
I just don't think I understand.... I'd also like Logos to have a more explicit Topic Search along with Basic Search, Bible Search etc. so that we don...

I had noted the duplicate but I don't think that's the problem since I tried with other topics for which there was no duplicate, yet there is disparity between search and factbook.

I'm well aware of that search box, but it searches both the topic and the text in each post. I would like to limit the search to the topic. And, yes, I use Google with the site option, but can you tell me how that helps me do what I want to do? And it would be useful to search based on just the topic and the tag. AND to more often get the "more search...
OK, here's my understanding, pieceing together Sean's posts and the various user requests. Logos 3 did not have a true concept of topics. Confusingly, however, we all thought it did and you could search for topic(searchterm). In Logos 3 searching for topic(searchterm) actually searched the headings of Logos resources, and...

  • Clause Search or Topic Search or ?

Hello all, I have a question: Using Logos 5 - how would you do a search - using the Clause Search or the Topics Search or any other type of search . . . - such that it would give you every result for "In Christ" or "in Him" or "in Jesus" - or any other ways that this idea of being "in Christ" - is expressed in scripture? Hopefully someone knows. Help...
