• Getting my hands on resource updates

the issue of internet downloads is not a new one on this forum. I live outside the U.S. and my internet access is expensive and limited to 3GB of total traffic per month. This user profile is definitely not taken into account in the way Logos software is engineered. In relation to this I have the following question: I have several resources that are

  • Libronix resources missing on my L 4 Mac installation

I have several resources (can't figure out exactly how many) that are in my Libronix installation (mac), but not in my Logos 4 Mac installation. I cannot utilize the internet to update resources due to limited internet in my country of residence. Is there a way to have L 4 Mac recognize all the resources in my Libronix library? Bryan

  • Re: Are interlinears working yet?

I have Scholars Silver, so I would hope that would include reverse interlinear resources. What do I need to look for? My top Bibles are ESV and NASB, so I believe those should have it, right? Aha! I just compared my libraries in L4 and Libronix and I have three reverse interlinear resources in Libronix that are not showing in L4. I've had other issues

OK, this is good to know. I'm actually using Beta 7. I need to wait until September to download another beta because I'm overseas with limited internet and my august quota is nearing its peak. (4 GB a month for US$75... so no complaining about internet prices from you stateside folks : ) Bryan

  • Are interlinears working yet?

I'm trying to learn the Mac version by using the Windows version Wiki and noticed that the little button that should turn on the interlinear ribbon is not working. Is this just because it hasn't been implemented as of beta 8? Also, is there someplace on the forum besides release notes that lists what features are yet to be implemented? If so, I wouldn

  • Re: Making notes

I have my own questions about notes, so I'll add them to this thread. 1. I have tons of notes files from my former Bible software which was Bibleworks. I want to put this information into Logos. I don't mind copying and pasting and doing it manually (unless someone knows of a way to import those notes), but my question is... should I do this now while

  • Re: moving resources from Libronix to L4Mac

yay, it worked! Although I didn't really see it do anything and it didn't notify me of anything. The resource was just available next time I opened L4
In the command bar, type "scan x ", where x is the full path to the folder in which you're storing the new resource.
I tried this and it didn't seem to do anything. What I actually typed was... Scan /Macbook HD/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/resources/ Did I type that right?

  • Re: Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

There must be some way to do this without downloading because I got all my resources in there without downloading them when I first started using L4Mac alpha

  • moving resources from Libronix to L4Mac

I started using L4Mac back in the Alpha stage and have enjoyed it. However, it has been so long ago, I can't remember how I got my resources moved over from Libronix! I am in Asia and can't use the "update resources" option because it would require me to download 6GB of files and I pay $75/month for 4GB of bandwidth. I bought an additional book today

  • Re: Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

OK, I went ahead and bought the one volume that I need and now I have problems. I am using the Logos 4 Mac Beta 7 and when I tried to download the new purchase, it wanted to download over 6GB of updates (I pay US$75/month for 4GB of bandwidth.) So, I thought no problem, I'll follow the instructions to download for older versions and then download it

Thanks for explaining this, Kevin. Am I correct in understanding that the update feature only acquires updated versions of things I already have? In other words, it is not going to add content that isn't already there. For example, if a new volume is added to a series, it isn't going to be added to my collection through the update feature. Correct?

  • Re: Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

Thanks, Graham. Interestingly, I have 32 volumes. In addition to the original 31, I also have the second volume on the Gospel of John. All the other titles listed on the page you sent are missing. Now, the question is, what is the cheapest way to fill out this commentary? Should I buy individual licenses for each book? Or is there some way to upgrade

  • Re: Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

Can one of you guys explain to me the "update now" feature of Logos 4? What exactly does it do? And what does "indexing" do? Because I live overseas I got all my resources on DVD when I first bought Logos so that I would not have to be using the internet. I don't understand why the software needs to use the internet AFTER I have all my resources installed

Kevin, I upgraded from Scholar's Library: Silver (ND) to Scholar's Library: Silver (LE) on Dec. 3, 2009. Can you tell from that date if I should have this book or not? If not, what do you guys recommend as the cheapest way to acquire it? Should I just buy the individual license for the book or do some kind of upgrade of the series? I find the Logos

Thanks Edwin and MJ, I do have an email off to customer support, but thought I would try on here as well. I am using Logos 4 beta for Mac and the Libronix for Mac. My purchase was made probably around 6 months or so ago. Do either of you guys know if the 1 Peter volume is a recent edition to the series? If so, that might be why it wasn't included in

  • Re: Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

No, I'm sure I don't have it. I did the author search as you suggested, and it didn't show up. I tried in both the Libronix 1 program as well as the Logos 4 Mac Beta that I am using. I also noted that it doesn't come up in the commentary list when I do a search for 1 Peter in the passage guide, so it is definitely not there. Bryan

  • Why is 1 Peter volume not in my New American Commentary Series

Hi, I acquired the entire New American Commentary series with the Scholars Silver package (the main reason I bought at the Silver level), but now I am noticing that the 1 and 2 Peter and Jude Volume is not in my library, even though it is available for purchase. Can someone tell me why I don't have this particular volume? And how I can get it? Bryan

  • Re: Search question

Thanks, Mike. That is indeed what it was. I was typing in "1 Peter", but when I typed in "1 Peter 1" I got the passage guide. another question... if you have the time. How do I go about personalizing what resources show up when I type a reference in the passage guide. For example, "1 Peter 1" brought up "Commentary, Critical and Explanatory, on the

  • Search question

When I open L4 and do a search from the "Go" field directly below the Logos logo, it opens just a general search window and searches "all text" from my "entire library". Before it would open the passage guide, a Bible, and several other windows. Did I change something in the prefs? I've looked and cant figure out what I changed, if anything. Also, the
