I agree with the general thrust of this debate. A separate huddle for Verbum users would not be of general advantage.

I have been offered a free SBLGNT resource. Why should I use it rather than the NA27 (= UBS4 ??) I have been using for years? Please advise!

Mike, many thanks. I need to reflect on the exegesis of frying pans and fires. Is it something like Scylla and Charybdis? But does iPad = Frying Pan and Android = Fire or vice versa? I also think of the terrible trouble Adam and Eve had with the Apple option.
-
Again Mark, my answer is cost. I think Apple is trying to force me to spend, and I do not like to be bullied. Hence I am drifting towards an Android solution.
-
Steve, the answer to your question is a yes, $, £ or EURO. Take your pick. I am annoyed at Apple in trying to force people to spend more money. I believe that an iPad which is relatively new should not be made obsolete. I think, as with Logos, upgrades should be reasonable. Preventing me from using apps is not ethical.

Fredc many thanks. I imagine the Kindle app would only be suitable for Kindle books, but I would like to be able to read other e books and study Verbum. Also with IOS 5 I cannot get the KIndle app on my iPad. Would another tablet type of hardware suit me better?
-
I study Verbum/Logos on a laptop (HP Pavilion) and I sometimes use it on an iPad (IOS 5), however I would like to get hardware to read Kindle books, other e books and study Logos/Verbum. I do not think a Kindle reader would be my preferred option, as it seems limited, what would you recommend for me?

Looking at the Forums here I do not see Verbum. I am a bit disappointed,as one of the features I particularly appreciated was having all those interested in the Bible in one place, now it seems to me various groups are shunted off to their own specific places. I am perturbed to see that if one is a Catholic one can find Augustine's arguments for purgatory

This afternoon I changed from Logos 5 to Logos 6 and my basic system is Verbum Foundation. Please let me know to which Logos package does this correspond. Thanks and regards.
-
MJ. Thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested, and (as expected) I do not think anything changed, as Verbum was already my home page.
-
ABS, Thanks for your reply. You wrote " Αs I recall, if you have Logos 5, and have purchased a verbum product, you can (within logos 5) type "set verbum to on" or something along those lines to give logos 5 verbum functionality. " I cannot find where to write this. I have looked in Home and Settings. However I think I have what I want, as I seem to

I am very grateful for the detailed and courteous replies and apologize for seeking further information and clarifications. Unfortunately I lack skills with hardware (laptops and iPads), and also with software (Logos and Verbum). But now thanks to courteous, comprehensive, expert and patient replies I feel more confident in going back to my Bible studies
-
Alamama24, many thanks for your very clear reply to my query here. A problem with me is that I find it difficult to describe concisely and comprehensively my problems, but in this case a full resolution is apparent, and here the problem is resolved. An iPad is not meant to give as full study as a laptop does. So I think I will stick to the laptop and

Recently I was advised not to have two versions on my computer at the same time. So on my iPad I removed Logos, leaving only Verbum. On my laptop in the taskbar I have the Logos icon, When this is open I get the Verbum Home. I have asked related questions, but am still not too sure of some issues. Why is it advised not to have both Verbum and Logos

I would appreciate help, and thanks for all the useful advice I have received recently. In trying to use Verbum my iPad and my laptop get different results. Thus doing a Passage Search on my laptop I get 22 sections, including the Church Fathers Collection. But with the iPad I only get 7 sections. Details laptop: On my laptop I have the Logos icon in

Mick, I really appreciate all the help I am getting and am spending a lot of time learning new features in Logos, both with the iPad and Laptop. I will do, in detail, as you suggest and your comments are a great help. In fact I have already followed your suggestions, but a deeper study would be appropriate. Thanks once more.

Recently I am trying to use Logos more productively and I am grateful for the help in the forums. In reply to a suggestion I bought the above resource, but cannot make a Personal Book. Is there a simple way to do this? The webinar is not fully satisfactory, as some texts considered by Church Fathers would not be accepted as such by modern scholarship

I am trying to get Logos started on an iPad, and have some queries. In a previous post I asked whether an iPad or a Laptop is preferable for Logos. The answer I understand is that the laptop is better (in general) for detailed study. Is this the consensus view? I note there are many apps available for Logos Bible Software. I use Logos Bible (= Bible

Thanks for all your clear replies, they allowed me to get started immediately. MJ. I will move, but I see I have already been moved. In general which is preferable, iPad or Laptop?

Sorry for asking such a basic question. Today my son gave me an old ipad and I now want Logos on it as well as on my laptop. What do I do? Do I first need an itunes account? Please help!
