• Re: Is the future of Logos to be 100% online?

I actually don't desire it to be 100% online. I can see the frustration of wanting to use the software but the internet at my home being down. I'm not a Pastor but I can imagine the panic of Pastors needing the software but the internet is down. I always hope there is an option for it to be offline.

  • Is the future of Logos to be 100% online?

Or will there always be an option to download and install software? Playing with Chrome OS which is basically 100% online seems to be the future so I was wondering if Logos sees a future where all of their data sets and search capabilities being online.

Logos 5 was the first time I've purchased a Logos product so I was just curious as to Logos' release schedule as some software companies release new versions on a yearly basis. I'm thankful for Logos 5 and I don't even know what the grass on the other side even looks like to desire it.

  • Re: Stuck “offline” after 5.0b SR4 update ………

So does that mean if Logos' has a major outage and their servers go down we can't access our resources that are already downloaded on our computer unless we log in? It seems there should be a work around. I'm sure Logos' has a disaster back up plan, but you never know what can happen and I would hate to not be able to read the material I purchased.

  • Re: Requesting user feedback: Send to Kindle feature

Thanks Mark! Your technique of using .htmlz rather that .rtf was the big difference since .htmlz kept the formatting like you said. As you can see in the image, it even does better than expected as I would just worry about doing each chapter heading because of time. Now all I need to do is think of a way to create a macro or .NET app that would parse

Mark do you have an easy way like a macro or something to format your converted .docx? Or do you go chapter by chapter and Highlight with the Heading 2 style? I usually convert commentaries from Kindle to PB and then I go chapter by chapter Highlighting with Heading 2. I'm hoping for a faster way.

Please add this Feature! Sometimes I'll buy a Kindle book over a Logos book, just because it's easier to read on the Kindle app.

  • Re: Is there a Bible with no verses, chapters or headings?
I don't have a Bible without verses in Logos, but there is a PDF and DOC copy of one on a website. http://www.biblewithoutverses.com It also have a printed version to buy if you wanted, but the digital formats are free.
The seller might want to change the title of that in light of recent releases.

One way I do it is to first click Bible Text only and then slightly shift the Logos software off screen until the verse numbers are hidden.

  • Re: Logos Harlem Shake: Dear Bob and Dan Pritchett

The sermons/books from the IFB crowd on their extra-Biblical belief of what "Do not be of this World" means reminds me of the works the Pharisees had on what they believed "Keeping the Sabbath" meant. The Bible defines what being of this World means. We don't need any extra-Biblical information.

For Logos to have a Steve Ray Collection before a James White book is funny to me. +1 for James White Books
Several have suggested IVP to me, but I don't think it's worth the money for example because some of the volumes in it are on a too easy level (I have some other reasons too not to buy):
In my opinion, this is a much better Reference Bundle - http://www.logos.com/product/8588/the-essential

Thanks LimJK. It does help showing me that Clause Search in it's current state is unreliable at best and requires more work on my part at worst.

Even doing the different variations of worship to the object:God doesn't return much verb:to worship object:God Maybe Logos just needs to do more tagging, or I need some clause search training.

  • Re: Why does this clause Search not work?

Thanks for the help Dave and R4M. I'm really frustrated with Clause Search. It doesn't seem to work the way I expected it to. Not just just this search, but many others I've tried. I listed this one to see if others can point out something I'm doing wrong but it seems like it's trial and error.
