Thanks, Ron I am hanging in there; but, we could use a little help from Logos, I think. Creating categories would be one helpful way to start. But, keeping those customizable is paramount as well. I think I'll like the ratings system; but, how can I accurately rate a title I haven't used? lol Thanks again, Tim
Legendsofbatman

    Thanks, I'll try both.

Same with the "newspaper". I find it rather cluttery, myself, but, others may like it. It should be customizable, so we can see what we want, or, have it hidden.
In the lower left corner of your window is the "Customize" button. You might want to investigate the

Nope; it was someone at Logos Tech Support. Ive only had Logos since May, and even with just 300 titles under 3, that's a lot to know. Now, supposedly there's over 500 titles in my library (havent seen all the reverse interlinears, tho) and now have less a clue what all I have. lol. I cant imagine some libraries that have several thousand in them, not

  • Re: Customization and Logos 4

I for one would like to see each genre of books categorized; eg, Bibles, Commentaries, Lexicons, etc. From there we can customize which ones get searched first, second, and 100th. This seems to be an easy thing to do, and seems to be the basics of what everyone is asking for. Can this happen any time soon, Logos?

There's a few things that I have seen on cheaper libraries that, in my not so humble opinion should have been incorporated with Logos long ago. The most important, being a separation of book type; ie, Bibles, Commentaries, Original Language Tools, etc. With over 500 titles in my "small" library, this should be a given. I can't imagine those having the

Love that book Exegetical Fallacies. The KJ translators saw the word "monogenes" and translated it literally, "only begotten". They had no other understanding, at the time, apparently. But, it doesn't make it any less incorrect. But, today, I would agree, it probably would not be translating "literally" (although, I'm sure many KJ-only people would

It is; at least that is what I intended; without using the name, to negate my point. Sadly, you are correct about peoploe arguing over semantics and words. If precision were paramount to God, I suppose there would need be only one Gospel, not four, and if it were, they'd all agree word for word on the same stories. As an example, Jesus' baptism. One

Unfortunately, I am not proficient in either Greek or Hebrew; yet. Im hoping by the time I die, I will have learned both languages (as well as Aramaic) well enough to at least be on a 3rd grade level. Almost as important as the language itself, is learning how it works. While I'm still learning this, I do think I have learned this quite well. But, again

I wrote that post at like 3am or some insane time, so, I may have the initials wrong. But, I was referring to the Bible the Jehovah Witnesses use. DR? My guess Darby.

(NWLT, for example).
What is NWLT, and from another poster what is DR? Thanks for the help in advance. Ted
Personally, I try hard to stay clear of the KJV. It was great for its' time; but, we have found manuscripts that clear up many errors in the KJV. But, that aside, you have made the best statement I have heard from anyone in this debate, in many many years. This debate does nothing more than divide. You get a huge "Amen" from me on that one. And, to

I agree with you on the purposes of a translation except for "therefore should strive to be a "literal" translation". Yes, we want as much of the literal words as possible; just sometimes it does not work. Ex. is the erroneously translated word "monogenes" which literally (and therefore inaccurately) translated is "only begotten". But, "monogenes" mean

I'm almost 50% sure I thought i saw it was able to be hidden. I guess that means, Im 50% sure I didn't. lol.
Bob asked for suggestions on tweaking the ribbon a few days ago; I'd be very surprised if the ribbon didn't become customisable in terms of it content, and/or able to be hidden, in a not too distant release... Unfortunately, I do not see a way to make things disappear from the "Ribbon". I too have my frustrations with things (such as that derned Favorites Bar folder in IE8) and wish things could be more customizeable. Fortunately, Logos seems to be extremely good at that; but, not always how we would want it. I am wondering if the ribbon can be hidden; I

Actually, the most sensible solution to his problem is someone showing him how to make things work. Having been frustrated by so-many unhelpful help support reps in the computer industry, I certainly understand the frustration OP is going through. Yes, getting a refund is an option, if it is an option (software usually is not refunded, unfortunately

"... but, does that mean the actual Hebrew & Greek or the English?" Well, English of course. Everyone knows that Adam and Eve were 20th century Americans, who spoke English. There may be a few who actually believe they spoke Hebrew. (Come to think of it, I wonder what language they did speak; pretty confident it wasn't 1611 English, or Hebrew, for that
