• Re: Initial Reaction to L8?

Graham Every pitch to sell a book, collection, etc. on the Home page. On my "Home Page" it starts out with the 10 Day Reading Plan. I think that is ok, and not an ad. Then the Morris tidbit tutorial videos. Definitely helpful. Then an option to download the app (technically an ad, but, maybe acceptable). Then a slew of Prepub, Community Pricing ads

Dennis I just discovered that this morning. Well, that we cannot zap the ads. Yet. At least I am hoping this is a "yet". The last thing I need in my Bible is a barrage of freeway billboards flying at me at every turn. I realize some may appreciate them. That's fine for them. Me, I find it disgusting, and we should have the option to eliminate them.

Dave, From what I (mis)understand, this is an early release, and Nov. 5th they'll roll out the full project. Not sure if that is still the case or what. But, I do hope some more tweaks will be rolled out for everyone.

  • Re: Initial Reaction to L8?

Here's the problem I have had since my first day: I can Google a reference much faster than I could ever in Logos. I can even find a passage in hard copy faster. Now, that is sad. So, for 9 to 10 years, I have pretty much done the exact opposite of what Logos was supposed to do. I decreased my Bible usage. Tremendously. Sadly, I had other software that

Sean Sorry to see you scratched the subscription. Now, I don't know if it's worth getting back. L7 wasn't much of an upgrade over L4, really. I had a hard enough time with L3. L4 was a huge upgrade (or downgrade, depending on your perspective) over L3. So, in all honesty, even though I personally did not like 4,5,6 or 7 a whole lot (altho, I honestly

Donovan Thank you. I am not well versed in these features, because I've been to frustrated to use most of these. Kind of sad, really. But, unfortunately, rather than being a wonderful tool, Logos had become a huge money sucking pit, with more frustration than an asset. L8 seems to be heading in the right direction; and since the inclusion of more free

John, Under the "Gear" icon, there appears to be a column setting. I'm not sure if it works or does anything. But it is there, and may be an indication it is coming soon, if not yet available.
So far I'm very pleased and see a lot of potential. I think the web app is coming of age though I wish for 4 columns and a full page

That's always possible. It may not be profitable enough?

The lack of visibility of the subscriptions on the website suggests that Logos does not really know where to go with them.
Or Faithlife don't want to push subscription as much with Logos 8? I think I used Notes a couple times. But, nah, why use it, when I can make my own notes much easier, and access them so much easier elsewhere on the computer. I agree with you on change for change sake to just change something so you can change. Maybe this is somewhat true here, but, so far I am happy with the direction of some of these changes. Quicker

I had the email (yay. That error finally got fixed) and I opened L7 and a little pop-up window was hiding on my desktop screen. I'd go to the base package page add it to your cart. If it does not drop to 0.00 then I'd call in, and they should be able to help.
So I am a FL Connect subscriber and have not received the email. Is

From what I (mis)understand, if you are in the "grandfathered" pricing, you do NOT want to cancel (or let it lapse) because once it lapses, it won't renew at that lower rate. And once you stop the subscription, everything that is "rented" goes back. So, yes, you would lose anything that wasn't owned. Now, if you buy a base package, you will lose the

Thank you. You've used this for years. You've also seen my complaints over the years. Some justified, some, justified to me only. Some maybe not justified at all. You have tried to help me get excited about Logos, but underpowered computers, internet, and too extensive of a program that would only be underwhelming has greatly hampered my desire to use

I'm not fortunate enough to be able to afford that edition. I really can't afford Bronze, but, keep upgrading. To be honest, I have never been thrilled with Logos. I knew when I got L3, and loaded it, it was not going to be as easy to use as all my previous Bible software. Sadly, that has discouraged me, and I have not made much use of it in the 9 or

  • Initial Reaction to L8?

I prefer that this not be a bashing session. But, at the same time, I am curious what everyone's opinion is on the latest version. I'll start, but, in all honesty, I am not the best person to do a critique. So far, being a Logos Now/Connect, or whatever it's called this week subscriber, I was thrilled that for once I was not faced with the decision

Brad, I'd like to add my 2 cents worth. Bob had stated that how Logos Now, Logos Connect, or, whatever it's being called this week, is a way for us to pay as we go, or to buy it outright all at once. (Not a direct quote, but, you get the idea). I've not been too happy with Logos, until L7. I came in a few months prior to the end of L3 and to see L7

The fact you get a chance to respond at all, and do, is great. Late is cool. I was talking about "My Bible" today, and another thing you do that is awesome. I'm not sure the legalities behind the Digital Rights but, one thing that is great is how you have secured our rights to keep titles you no longer have rights to. (At least I think so). Thanks again

Bid on it too, but, hoping it drops, as Im one of extremely limited budget. But, I do admit, even at $130, its a good price. $50 would be much better for me tho
Another Mobile Ed on community pricing popped up yesterday, Mobile Ed: TH222 Theological Anthropology, hopefully this is proving to work well and they'll be more

I've had a rough time with Logos and the company and it's policies since I delved in to L3. I've never had problems with digital Bibles prior to Logos, and embraced them. For some sad reason, Logos put a huge and bitter taste in my mouth from the last months of L3 until L7. I've not been one of your biggest fans. With how you helped "correct" some of
