A competitor to Logos
Thanks but I'm too heavily invested in Logos at this point.
I never recommend a celeron processor. I would recommend purchasing a new one, or increasing the Ram, or getting a Solid State Drive. The Solid State Drive would make a world of difference.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the future--I really have no clue what is what. Do you mean buying a SSD as an external
That's not a particularly powerful CPU, but it should be adequate enough to run Logos. Slow application performance is a classic symptom of a machine that is infected with one or more viruses. The first thing I would do is have someone knowledgeable check out your computer to make sure it's clean and that there's nothing else interfering

Thanks Bradley--I never received a reply so I never knew the note was added. No, no calls since.

Oh, I have no idea what the laptop has--I only bought it six months ago if that makes any difference.

Looks like I have to delete an additional folder to completely delete it. I'll try that. My specs are: Intel Celeron CPU N2830 @ 2.16 GHz 4 GB (3.89 usable) 64 bit operating system, x64-based processor.

I'm on Windows. How would I delete my resources (I assume I'd get them back when installing L5)? I think the problem is my laptop just isn't powerful enough for Logos. Short of getting something more powerful (not an option), I can't think what else to do. It's not crashing or creating error messages, it's just an endless ' not responding' message in

No, I only uninstalled L6--are there other steps I should have taken?

  • Re: Logos 6 is Slow

It won't let me go back to L5--says that an upgrade is required because of incompatibility issues with some of my resources. I had the free L6 version. I will have to call support in the week (Logos wasting yet more precious time).

ahh, not very good is it? I suppose I could provide a fake phone number. It wouldn't have been so bad if he was a bit more pleasant--'ha ha ha, some people downloaded the free version of L6 but they don't realize that they don't actually get anything new--what idiots' was the tone of my caller, before trying to get me to shell out money on L6 gimmicks

  • Re: Logos 6 is Slow

Thank you. That won't work--my laptop just can't handle Logos 6, and the program simply spends a lot of time 'not responding' (as well as slowing down/stopping other programs like Microsoft Word and Google Chrome if I have them up at the same time). Logos 5 was frustrating enough.

  • Sales Calls

Is there anyway to stop getting sales calls to my home? I had one a couple of weeks ago. There should be somewhere on our profiles where we can say we don't want calls, shouldn't there? I did email Sales (no reply), and I guess I could call them, but it would be easier just to set a preference on this if there is one.

Does anyone know where or how I can install Logos 5? I want to uninstall Logos 6. It seems Logos is designed for IT savvy people and I am not one. I am seriously considering selling my library and moving to BibleWorks because the speed issue isn't merely an inconvenience--it is discouraging me from using Logos at all.

  • Are Core Crossgrades the only option for new features?

Will there be an option in the future to pick and choose what we want to add to a free upgrade, or are the core crossgrades the only options we will have? For example, I would like the Ancient Literature feature, but don't want to pay for everything in the minimum crossgrade.

There are prices next to the individual features--will there be an option in the future to pick and choose what we want to add to a free upgrade, or are the core packages the only options we will have?
Of the 'features', and presuming one is not hot on the trail of lexical criticism, along with guestimates about the textual background, I'd assume the inline search is 'it'. The notes improvements come with the engine. But I'd think the inline search would be useful. I have it on my own Bible software and I use it a lot (primarily

  • Re: Why?

I hope we get an answer on the speed issue, but from what I recall, it is not a priority--more and more gizmos seems to be the way it goes. Sometimes I study on Google Books rather than dealing with the frustratingly slow pace of Logos. I wish they could offer a streamlined version for those of us that don't care too much about many of the add-ons and
