• Re: Ashurbanipal (not related to Logos8 or packages or another bug)

I love the Assyrian gallery at the British Museum: it's one of the advantages of living near London! I'll certainly be going to this exhibition as they seem to have some additional material for it that's not normally on display.

You need to have started the course using the Courses Tool before the card becomes available to put on the dashboard.

Unfortunately, it's not available in my country (Scotland) and presumably some others.
’Twas a bit weird getting an email from faithlife telling me about a freebie that I’m ineligible for (also in the UK), but there you go.
Agreed. Same here (UK). They really ought

I can't remember where I saw it but FL has said somewhere in the last couple of days that they are aware of this and are working on a fix for it. So it should be a temporary problem.

  • Re: Workflow: what use beyond the basics?

I tend to have a fairly standard way of preparing a sermon to make sure I've done the necessary background work. Up until now I've accomplished that with a number of customised Passage and Exegetical Guides. Workflow helps me to to bring all of that together. I think it is also potentially helpful for students preparing exegetical papers, people preparing

  • Re: Why all the bundling? Request to Logos/Faithlife staff

I've been looking for Next: Pastoral Succession that works . It's not available on Faithlife eBooks, and is only available on Logos as part of this collection . This book is a widely-recommended book, and I know of several groups of church leaders who are working through it. Would it be possible to break it out and sell it separately from the collection

  • Re: AYBD or ISBE, Revised?
If you are a pastor or Bible teacher, hands down the ISBE is the better choice. Also the Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible is an outstanding work.
I agree, and as someone who has both I’d say that AYBD is probably better for academic work, ISBE for Bible teaching/preaching, or for looking something up more quickly

  • Re: What happened to the Logos Now book of the Month?

I just went and trie dit and the Classic code is working fine, but the original code is saying “Invalid Code”. I don‘t think I’ve used it this month so I suspect there’s a problem with the code. Hopefully it will get sorted on Monday.

  • Re: Grammar links in every verse of the Bible to Greek & Hebrew grammar books that we have bought

There's another way of accomplishing this that I often use, which does require a little setup but works well for me. I find it a little more focused than the Exegetical Guide if I am looking to focus on grammar only. Build a collection of grammars. I've got one for Greek and one for Hebrew grammars but you could just build one. A quick-and-dirty way

It's greyed out for me as well, although looking at the progress on the Prepub page it could be a long while before it actually does come into Logos.

  • Feature Request: Lookup available locally/offline

I am a basic Greek reader, and have a Reading plan set up to read through the NA28 each year. Each day I will need to use Lookup two or three times either to parse a word or to find its meaning. On the Logos iPad app this takes time (up to 15s) when online and doesn't work at all when offline. It was only today when experimenting with A-company's iPad

  • Re: What would you tell your younger self about Logos?

I concur with much of what's written above. I've never done CampLogos or worked through LearnLogos - it kind of jars to have to pay extra for that. My tips would be: Take time to go through the introductory videos - it'll pay back hugely. Follow the tips Morris Proctor puts on the Logos blog (they also tend to appear on the Home page of the desktop

  • Re: How would you preach this text?
Brad, almost all commentaries have outlines. FL has helpfully tagged outlines within commentaries so they can be searched. I have a collection of commentaries that are 'intermediate' level. Here is the result of a search of that collection for Mt 13:
It's also worth noting that the outlines are available as a default
Well, I don't want everything, but I would like to have some commentary sets and some journal collections... and Bibles for comparisons.
I tag all the books I want on my iPad as ‘ipad’ on the desktop. Then, if/when I have to reinstall the app (or get a new iPad) I simply type ‘mytag:ipad’ in
I get that getting 3 commentaries for $5 is a GREAT deal, but these particular commentaries are rated low on www.bestcommentaries.com , probably due to their liberal leaning tendencies, but that is just a guess on my part. I am disappointed that this being the 500th anniversary of Luther's 95 theses, that there are not any
I would like to suggest a find box like there is in the Bible browser to make use speedier and more convenient. It is a bit of a drag to have to expand "more" lists to find what one wants to pick. Otherwise very useful.
- This would make it easier to use when working through a text - I'm reading Matthew at the moment

I normally tag speaker notes using the "prompt" option at the top of the panel which works fine for me: I'd suggest you give that a try. I've never tried printing it out as I always preach from an iPad. I'm afraid I can't comment on Handouts as I don't use them.

I also use it for writing weekly sermons, which I then preach from my iPad. I am finding it more useful with every update - it probably wasn't the finished article when firs delivered, but is getting better all the time. I appreciate the ease of inserting passages of Scripture, quotations, and prompts and so on. I don't use it much at the moment for
