• Feature Request: Lookup available locally/offline

I am a basic Greek reader, and have a Reading plan set up to read through the NA28 each year. Each day I will need to use Lookup two or three times either to parse a word or to find its meaning. On the Logos iPad app this takes time (up to 15s) when online and doesn't work at all when offline. It was only today when experimenting with A-company's iPad

  • Re: What would you tell your younger self about Logos?

I concur with much of what's written above. I've never done CampLogos or worked through LearnLogos - it kind of jars to have to pay extra for that. My tips would be: Take time to go through the introductory videos - it'll pay back hugely. Follow the tips Morris Proctor puts on the Logos blog (they also tend to appear on the Home page of the desktop

  • Re: How would you preach this text?
Brad, almost all commentaries have outlines. FL has helpfully tagged outlines within commentaries so they can be searched. I have a collection of commentaries that are 'intermediate' level. Here is the result of a search of that collection for Mt 13:
It's also worth noting that the outlines are available as a default

  • Re: How many resources can be downloaded to iOS app
Well, I don't want everything, but I would like to have some commentary sets and some journal collections... and Bibles for comparisons.
I tag all the books I want on my iPad as ‘ipad’ on the desktop. Then, if/when I have to reinstall the app (or get a new iPad) I simply type ‘mytag:ipad’ in

  • Re: Free Book of the Month: October 2017
I get that getting 3 commentaries for $5 is a GREAT deal, but these particular commentaries are rated low on , probably due to their liberal leaning tendencies, but that is just a guess on my part. I am disappointed that this being the 500th anniversary of Luther's 95 theses, that there are not any

  • Re: New Feature: New Testament Use of the Old Testament (Interactive)
I would like to suggest a find box like there is in the Bible browser to make use speedier and more convenient. It is a bit of a drag to have to expand "more" lists to find what one wants to pick. Otherwise very useful.
- This would make it easier to use when working through a text - I'm reading Matthew at the moment

  • Re: Sermon Document Question: Speaker Notes

I normally tag speaker notes using the "prompt" option at the top of the panel which works fine for me: I'd suggest you give that a try. I've never tried printing it out as I always preach from an iPad. I'm afraid I can't comment on Handouts as I don't use them.

  • Re: Sermon Editor

I also use it for writing weekly sermons, which I then preach from my iPad. I am finding it more useful with every update - it probably wasn't the finished article when firs delivered, but is getting better all the time. I appreciate the ease of inserting passages of Scripture, quotations, and prompts and so on. I don't use it much at the moment for

  • Re: Bock on Historical Jesus (and the Disciples)

There are a number of relevant resources available in Logos: This course by Craig Evans is good - I'm about two-thirds of the way through it. If you search "Jesus outside the New Testament " in the Logos store, you get some helpful stuff:

  • Re: A Question about the "Commentary on the NT Use of the OT"

I have both Hardcover and Logos editions and use it every time I study a passage. It's typically my first stop when I begin to consult commentaries.
One resource that I consult for EVERY NT passage I preach.
The same here. I've got it prioritised so that it appears at the top in

  • Re: Sermon Published without my permission

There's a check box at the bottom of the Sermon header information to pubilish it automatically to Soundfaith. I think this was new in 7.5. I make sure it's unchecked every time, as it somehow got checked on one occasion. I suspect if you check your Sermon document you'll find this box is checked.

  • Re: Impossible to find a table of the kings of Israel?!
I cannot believe how impossible it is to find a chart of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah. I know there is one in my print ESV Study Bible ... yet I cannot generate it in Logos. Please tell me how in the world I would find such a chart in Logos. I use Reformed Gold and I cannot believe that I don't own several tables

  • Re: How do you use "Set Series?"
Other than lexicons, I have not found this feature helpful. Why would I bother with the passage guide commentary section anymore? Maybe you all know something that I do not about it.
I've found it useful for original-language texts. I've made a series of NA28 and BHS. Then, by putting the series alongside an English
It ultimate tries to link to which will not load. Adding a "www." to it loads as expected (i.e. ).
Thanks Randy - I found exactly the same and the fix you suggested certainly worked for me.

Hello Calvin and welcome to the forums. I've just tried it on my MacBook Pro copying Psalm 77 title-20 from the NIV nto Word, and it worked fine for me on SR-3. It would probably help if you were to tell us the steps to recreate the problem, and supply logs if you know how to do that. Also, as Dave mentioned above, it's worth saying what operating system

  • Re: Wordlist of proper nouns for NT and OT

I'm about to go out, but I think you can do it using Louw-Nida domains. So, first of all do a Bible search for LN domain 93: Then, convert it to a Word List by clicking the icon on the top left-hand corner: I haven't had time to check this properly, but I think it's producing what you are after.
