  • Re: Index for Works of John Bunyan

Not sure what your goal is here. Do you just want an easy way to access all resources by Bunyan? If so, you can create a collection defined as author:bunyan, and this would be far more useful throughout Logos. Otherwise, the easiest (and I mean easiest in a relative fashion) is to access the sqlite3 database and pull out the resources by Bunyan. The

  • Automatic ordering in notes does not work

When I create a new note against a book (not a Bible book, just a book), then it tries to sort the notes in order according to their title, not according to where they fall in the book. For example, if I am going through "Opening Up Proverbs." When I add a note to selected text, the notes file tries to keep all my notes in ABC order per their title

  • Exporting text doesn't footnote the source

I exported an article from the ESV SB, and the footer proudly proclaimed that it came from Logos Bible Software 4 with the date and time, but it seems that it would better to reference the source of the information. Would it be possible to allow L4 to put the bibliographic information in the footer rather than or at least in addition to "Logos Bible

yes. Logos can search as you described.

For #1, choose Tools | Copy Bible Verses. That opens a small tab where you can choose how you want the passage formatted and a target for the copied verses (or you can simply copy the verses and paste them manually). If you choose "Microsoft Word" as a destination, then hitting "Copy and Paste" will launch word if it isn't running and paste at the first

  • Re: Logos 4 Mac - Getting a new laptop: do you all recommend Mac Book Pro of Mac Air?

I went from a 2010 MBP 2.4GHz Core i5 8GB RAM and 7200 RPM HDD to a 2011 MBA 1.8GHz Core i7 4GB RAM (and SSD of course). Logos 4 performs much better on my MBA.

  • Re: Anyone running L4 on new MBA?

I just finished installing, downloading, indexing L4 on a 13" MBA, 1.8GHz Core i7, 4GB RAM. It's the first time it's ever run fast enough for me to use it, and it does run quite fast. My previous laptop was a 15" MBP Late 2010, 2.4GHz Core i5, 8GB RAM, 500GB 7200RPM HDD. It was acceptable on it, but I would still use ESVOnline.org, or even boot parallels

  • Re: Blackberry Playbook Compatible?

The playbook can't even run email. How will it run a real program like Logos? The playbook was dead on arrival, so if Logos intends to support that platform, it won't be for a couple of couple of interations.

  • Re: font size inconsistent

ah - that might explain the font thing with the NET. I had not thought of that.

  • font size inconsistent

I have the font size zoomed at 140%, but it seems to be inconsistently applied. I have the ESV, NET, and NASB open, but the NET font never changes. It also seems that only the foremost window accepts the change. I can switch to the NASB, change the font, and the font in the NASB changes, but not if it's not an active tab.

  • Re: Biblical Languages - Greek

BTW - note that the videos are in PAL format. They'll play in any computer and international DVD players just fine, but not in North American DVD players (which require NTSC format). Don't let this influence your decision, but do be aware.

  • Re: Biblical Languages - Greek

Let me strongly recommend two resources, both by Dave Black from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. his book, "Learn to Read NT Greek" is available in Logos. the DVD series of his class available here: http://daveblackonline.com/greek_dvds_now_available.htm . Dr. Black taught through his beginning grammar at his local church a couple of years

Just want to vouch for TimeMachine Editor - I use that to make TM backup once per day. I combine that with a free Mozy account for offsite document backups.

  • Re: Why is Logos 4 Mac so slow to respond?

My comparison for hdd speed is from my PC, which I had until Thanksgiving of 2010. There was a noticeable improvement with the faster hdd. The day my MBP arrived, I booted once to make sure it worked, then swapped the hdd out for a 7200RPM drive before installing anything.

Kevin - it seems you have obvious bottlenecks with each system. With the air, it's a Core Duo processor, and unless you upgraded, 2GB RAM. 4GB would be a minimum. With the new macbook pro, you have a slow hard drive. I have a 7200RPM drive and it has helped a lot. Mind you - Logos is still slow, and if I did not already have Logos, I'd probably have

  • Re: Why is Logos 4 Mac so slow to respond?

What are the specs of your MBP? The 13" have Core Duo processors, which are quite a bit less of a performer than the Core i5 (standard on 15"), even when the speed is the same. A faster HDD (7200RPM or SDD) is critical.

  • Feature Request: Highlight the clicked on note

I have a feature request for the notes files. When you click on the small square in the text that indicates a note is present, logos will go to the note in the notes file. However, if you have a lot of small notes, then it isn't clear which note it went to. I know you can mouse over the square, read the note, then find the full note in the notes file

Definitely drop box. If I you choose to use drop box, how about using this link: http://db.tt/m3NFZk5 . I get extra free space if I refer someone and they sign up. You get 2GB for free.

Thanks Melissa and Tom! I downloaded logos from the link Tom sent, and Logos launched and is rebuilding the indexes. I know that will take a while, but looks like things are working again. Thanks again!

  • Logos 4 Mac 4.0b SR-4 (4.10.4.9457) will not start

I wanted to update from 4.0a to 4.0b, and "Update now" didn't show any updates, so I just went to logos.com/logos4mac and downloaded the installer. After installing, logos would not launch. I used the very nice Logos Log Scribe that someone had posted and collected the logs. It appears that the indexer crashed. I remember reading that the indexes would
