• Re: A Poem/Hymn Dataset

There's a large collection of songs (really, lyrics) at Faithlife Music , both contemporary and classic. These show up in Passage Guide for matching references, and Sermon Starter Guide for both topics (Preaching Theme) and references. We haven't attempted to cover poetry per se, however.

The Sermon Starter Guide on the desktop app shows sections for Media Resources and Faithlife Music, and is keyed both by passages and by broad topics (Preaching Themes).

  • Re: Attn Sean: Question regarding Bible tagging

Hi MJ: In the best case (we all make mistakes), we would start with a more literal meaning. Whether it's hyperliteral or simply literal depends on the task, i suppose. In many cases, we're trying to capture (at best) a majority consensus of reputable scholarship, or when that isn't available, at least a responsible and defensible perspective. In this
...
Perhaps there is solid reasoning why two teams would assign different senses.
Absolutely - and that was the other option. I was keen to see which it was! One of my motives was that sometimes I would find it helpful if senses spanned Testaments more than they do - so if there is a legitimate

While we tried hard to integrate senses across the OT and NT, we had different staff doing the annotation, and there are a number of areas where their decisions didn't quite coincide. I'll pass this along to the team to review and correct as needed.

Feel free to add your comments here as to what you'd like to see supported (per Bob's comment early in the thread). I suspect it reads from your preferred Bible in Logos, in which case you'd have to change that to read from a different version (but I'm not certain

Like a commentary list all the scripture verses related to the map event so you can link your bible and it will automatically scroll to the right event map.
