• Re: Logos 7: What have you bought, and why...?

The discounts are in place I believe until Sept. 30 at least (Mods or MVPs correct me if I'm wrong), so you have some time to make a reasoned decision. Are you in seminary or planning on attending?
Hmmm now I'm torn on what package I should get. Any suggestions? I just got L6 Diamond back in late May
Keith, it's difficult to recommend a package to someone since everyone's needs are different. We have pastors, seminary students, lay leaders, small group leaders, and "just" dedicated Christians who approach Logos
My thinking, too. I am not likely to buy anything very large, and maybe nothing at all.
The upside for me is that my wife is happy that I won't be spending as much this release.
I'm wavering on whether to purchase the Full Feature Sets or join Logos Now. I'm leaning toward the former. [/quote

  • Re: Logos 7: What have you bought, and why...?

I'm having a hard time with these new L7 packages. Given my current library, the packages are very heavy on the public domain works without many modern commentaries or reference works that I'd find useful. Personally I'm likely going for just a few lower level denominational packages that have a few bargains from my Wish List. I'm going to resist buying

  • Re: Dynamic Pricing Error

Right now, Anglican Starter is $2.36 more expensive for me than Anglican Bronze. Not that I mind of course, but it suggests something odd is going on.

  • Re: Biblical Languages Base Package

Thanks Phil. I only "owned" Biblical Languages 6 because I purhased all of its resources separately through other Base Packages and random purchases over the years. I am just looking to compare what's in the package with previous versions. Interestingly, when I search for BL7, I am now seeing a dynamic price. This morning it was listed as $749.99 and

  • Biblical Languages Base Package

Shall I assume that the Biblical Languages Base Package is still for first time customers under the Academic Discount Program? I'd like to be able to see what's included in the L7 version, but the page is down at present: https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=biblical+languages https://www.logos.com/product/126577/biblical-languages

Any chance bdag dropped to gold or silver?
BDAG is in Platinum and above, along with Hermeneia and Continental Commentaries.
These new packages do appear to have some great new content. Kinda makes me wish I'd waited instead of getting them a la carte over the years.
The statement from Eerdman's found in the first post of this thread seems to indicate that they aren't interested in revising them:
August 15, 2016 At the beginning of July 2016, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. received allegations against one of its New Testament commentaries and immediately
Hi all, We're still working with Eerdmans to come up with a plan for anyone who does want to return the commentaries. For those to don't want to return them, please know that we will not take your commentaries away from you. You own them. Thank you!
I'd be interesting in knowing whether Eerdmans intends to revise

There is software available to scan for plagiarism and I would expect publishers and editors to be using it. You could buy the Miix from Costco and buy a 256GB SSD upgrade module from Crucial and swap it out. Crucial Module: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Lenovo/ideapad-miix-700-12isk You would need an external M.2 enclosure for the clone swap. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/NGFF-PCI-LANE-30mm-Enclosure/dp/B00QA1QD7W?ie=UTF8&psc

I just received an email stating that the Lexham Discourse Handbook: Romans is no longer being produced. I find this quite surprising, especially considering that these are still in the works: https://www.logos.com/product/43606/lexham-discourse-handbooks Is anyone privy to the story behind this?
