  • Re: The Horrid and Unethical Right-Click in Logos 6

It is a very sad thing when people seek to dehumanize others by comparing them to trolls. We should rather love our enemies and never attribute to others the base motives that we fear evident in ourselves. However when we dehumanize we give in to the impulse of hate, which is inconsistent with Christ.

[quote user="Eli Evans"]We're aware that there are a lot of commands and a lot of categories of data on the right-click and that we'll probably add more as we add more data and features. One way to deal with a cup that runneth over too much is to let people manage their abunance, so we do have some right-click customization designs under discussion

Greg, you are right. I think I have overstated my case. I agree that the word "unethical" is misplaced, because, as you say, it is unlikely that Logos is receiving any benefit for having these names in its menus. I remain disappointed however with the right click menu in Logos 6, and do feel that Logos needs to give users greater control over what features

The inclusion of these items in the right menu would not be unethical if they were optional. The fact that they are not optional tells me that Logos is wanting to force something onto its users. I don't think this is ethical. One must not forget, as I have stated, that this is a program that I have paid a lot of money for. It is not a web based program

  • The Horrid and Unethical Right-Click in Logos 6

One of the features of Logos 6 that I like the least is the new "cluttered" right click menu. I used to be able to click on some text (such as text in my Greek New Testament) and easily find my way to the desired lexicon. Now I have navigate my way through the new and very busy right click options, which include such useless commands as "Visual Copy

  • Logos has overtaken Accordance for good

I began using Accordance Bible Software about ten years ago. At the time Accordance was a great product that offered promise. Over the years though its appeal to me has diminished so that I hardly use it any longer. To my mind Logos is superior to it in every department now, although a few years back the products were even. Accordance fails for several

  • Re: The sham that is biblia.com

In retrospect I think my post was expressed too forcefully. I could have raised the same issues without resorting to the word "sham" which I now regret. A more suitable word would have been "disappointment". Please forgive my failing in this regard. My love for Logos boiled over into frustration. Luoar

Please pay attention to the words I use. I did not say that Logos has acted in an unethical way. In response to a previous poster who said the Logos had no obligations to anyone, I presented a contrary perspective. I said that they do have an obligation to their customers, and an obligation to maintain high ethical standards. Perhaps one of the key

Thank you for your passionate defense of Logos' biblia.com. I cannot agree that Logos is free of obligation to its customers, nor is it free of obligation in terms of maintaining the highest ethical business practices. As for your claim that the Chromebook is an inferior device, I cannot agree with that either. I alerted Logos to the limitations of

  • The sham that is biblia.com

I have used biblia.com for some time because I have a Chromebook and need to access my Logos books from there. The whole site is a sham in my opinion, designed by Logos to be not too helpful so as to force users into using its full scale software. Here are just a few of the sham features: * No highlighting * Double pane regardless * No customization

I like to use sympathetic highlighting with Greek and Hebrew. It would be nice to do this with text comparison so as to see instantly the translation along multiple and comparative texts.

George, I hardly think the link is an advertisement for the competitor. In any event, I tried to remove it but cannot seem to edit the post.

In my opinion Michael Eaton is the world's best commentator when it comes to practical application. Unfortunately, Logos only carries two of his titles, but they are worth getting.
