• Re: Bob: From King To Customer - The end of Faithlife as we knew it?

My .03 cents. I am a causal user of the software with a lot of investment. Neither a pastor or scholar, just a layperson that teaches a lot. There is a classic problem with software and usability that hasn't gone away especially as software grows in feature/functionality. My classic example is Quicken Software. My initial exposure to them was back in

  • Cost of Full Feature Set coming from older versions of Logos

I am debating whether to keep Logos Now and subscribe or to purchase the FFS. One question I have is if I decided to continue with LN, or cancel but not get a FFS, would the cost at the next update cycle be all that much more than today? I am at Logos 6 and to go to 7 FFS is $129.67. If I wait and decide when Logos 8 comes out I assume my cost then

  • If you want to see packages try this...

Mark Barnes posted this in General. You can get to the packages pages, (sometimes) and see what is new for you. I added the Verbum pages. Click on the dropdown to see other levels of packages. Still no ability to compare. https://community.logos.com/forums/t/129336.aspx

A suggestion to have the Release Notes put in a post at the top of the Logos Now Discussion Forum. That way folks new to this would find it right off the top. Something like in Logos 6 forum.
Also, I am not sure if this applies for new customers, but 1dollarscan is running a promotion (which is why I am about to send in a new batch). This would be a better deal than the Platinum membership - especially if you are using FineReader or omnipage and don't need the OCR or book titles (those can easily be added by hand and

  • Re: Digitizing your non-Logos/Verbum Books with Personal Books

This is a timely post as I was thinking through this process yesterday and today. I was researching 1dollarscan and was trying to figure out if it was worth it. I assumed the best bang for the buck is the plan you are on. A couple of questions: Did you find many books that caused you to span the set count with just a few pages for a given month? I assume

  • Re: Note Taking

Rather than using screen shots, I select the text in Logos; sometimes making the text size quite small to get all of the portion I want, and then select Share and then Email. This gives me a text block that doesn't have chapter and verse notations. I copy that text into Pages and cancel the email. I have a formatted Pages template with double spacing
Thanks. I got the code and bought the book. Did anyone get another book to show up? Life Together and Prayerbook of the Bible, Vol 5 DBW showed up at the same time in my library but doesn't show up in my order history.
Never mind, I found the answer to my question in the Faithlife Group. It is a temporary license.

  • The Great Books Reader: Excerpts and Essays... available for $2.99

Saw this Baker publication on Amazon Kindle and see that it is on sale on Vyrso as well. For those of us who are getting the Great Books next week, this will get your feet wet. "It contains substantial excerpts from thirty of the most important books in history, with each excerpt followed by an essay placing the work in historical and Christian context
Any chance we could get the online digital access instead of the regular physical print magazine? Lots of people would benefit to that too. (I surf there often) Thank you.
I am a print subscriber and have digital access online as well as in the app for the ipad.

  • Christianity Today (2006–2015) is now out in pre-pub

Saw this in my feeds today. Pre-pub of $99 till the end of May. Be curious if you can add the year to existing subscriptions. "When you pre-order Christianity Today (2006–2015) between 5/16/16 and 5/31/16 and your order is successfully processed at shipping, you’ll receive a free one-year subscription to Christianity Today (print). • Re: Logos App for iPod... audio reader component?

Another option is to have the Logos book in Kindle format. Amazon has made it somewhat easy to have Kindle books read aloud. This option in Logos to send to Kindle is going away at the end of the month so the easy way is only there for a couple more weeks. After that it can be done but takes a little more effort. Mark Barnes has a thread on how to to

I wouldn't quite call these a commentary set. I really like them and my usage has been to use them as a way to read through the New Testament as a devotional. They do have some use for me in look at passages.

  • Re: pending resource publishing: Studies on Christian Art History

You can find these books online at various sites. I notice that there are illustrations in the text, what I would call pen and ink drawings of art work. I assume they would be coming over when the books are converted. Here are some links to PDF's of these: The history of our Lord as exemplified in works of art https://archive.org/details/historyofourlor01jameuoft
