• Re: Best Commentaries sale: Great Idea, thanks, Faithlife!
What Childs did with his Exodus commentary that was new in its time was to add sections that no other critical commentary included. These include a section that looks beyond the Old Testament context of the passage and examines the New Testament use of the text, a survey the history of interpretation (history of exegesis) of
I picked up Child's epic commentary on Exodus. I'll be looking at some others, but am grateful i do have many already. 50% off is a great price for individual volumes.
I'm glad you brought this up. Could you expound a bit more on what makes this commentary worth the investment? The only other commentary I've read from
Do you want a list of those adjectives, or do you want to find where those adjectives in the NT? I'm asking whether a search of BDAG or other lexicon would meet your needs?
A list of those adjectives would be sufficient. There was a Daily Dose of Greek vidoe recently that mentioned there were X number of two-termination

  • Morph Search Question: Two and Three-Termination Greek Adjectives

Is there a way to search for all two and three-termination Greek adjectives, either through a morph search or some other way? An example of a three-termination adjective would be καλ ός , καλ ή , καλ όν because it can take the masculine, feminine, and neuter grammatical genders. To indicate

  • Problems with OT312 Book of Deuteronomy Videos

I'm wondering if the problem is solely on my end, but I'm thinking probably not. Half of the videos for the Mobile Ed course OT312 Book of Deuteronomy by Daniel Block do not play. For instance, the video "Recollections of Mount Horeb." Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

  • Re: Plagiarism?
I wonder how many of Faithlife's sermon collections would fare, since they were originally preached in a church setting?
Tim Keller would fare very well, since he frequently cites commentary and monograph sources in his sermons. He manages to do it in a way that does not sound stodgy. John MacArthur would fare well

  • Re: Plagiarism?

This all brings up an idea. It might be nice to have some sort of tool somewhere (but probably not in LOGOS itself) to report plagiarism. Faithlife could then forward the examples to the proper publishing editors. Doing so would allow editors to do updates to articles like these or even commentaries without us posting examples here on the forums. This

  • Re: I need help! How many commentaries are too many?

Through a lot of trial and error, I've found the following setup works for me for sermon and lesson prep: 1. Doing my exegesis first. This includes translating (and outlining depending on the genre) the passage, sketching an outline, meditating on the applications. 2. Pulling up the passage guide for my text and opening my top commentaries for it. Through
As I mentioned above, it appears that FL no longer has the rights to tribute the typeface.
Thanks for the report. This is related to the issue reported here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/152610.aspx Good news: We're aware of it and should have a fix shipped tomorrow (Tuesday). If you need to use a KJV version before then, I recommend trying the AV1873 (Cambridge Paragraph Bible) as its text

  • Inline Interlinear Feature Missing

Today I started up LOGOS (Mac) and a feature I use all the time--the inline interlinear feature--is missing. Where the "Inline interlinear" button should be in the KJV 1900 resource is now the "Equivalent sources" button. Here is the NKJV for comparison: Is this because of the recent 7.10.0.0019 update? I would very much like this feature back. If this
I would not take bestcommentaries.com as the final word on the value of commentaries. Certain series are of different value to different user types.
