I don't use BestCommentaries.com. The main problem with it is that they don't classify who recommends the commentaries.
I would also add that newer commentaries (say within the past 10 years or so) are not ranked very high either. They go to the bottom of the list until an evangelical commentator like Carson or Longman

  • Compiling Filtered Word List Question

How would I go about getting a word list of all of the lemmas in the Greek NT minus proper names ? The same would apply to getting all the lemmas for the Hebrew OT, Dead Sea Scrolls, the works of Josephus, etc. I had accidentally posted this to Suggestions. Hopefully, will get some ideas here. Thanks!

  • Re: Dead Sea Scrolls Sectarian MSS Results in Word Studies

Thank you for the reply, Mike. I am wondering if the Dead Sea Scrolls in English by Vermes is comparable to the Dead Sea Scrolls Study Edition that you referenced. What is the main difference between the two?

  • Dead Sea Scrolls Sectarian MSS Results in Word Studies

So I recently purchased the the Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database. The video demo for this product shows the Sectarian MSS showing up in the Hebrew Word Study search results. https://www.logos.com/product/5961/qumran-biblical-dead-sea-scrolls-database However, I figured out that this was sort of a "gotcha" moment. It looks like the DSS database
I have 47 volumes but, as far as I understand, two volumes I have are not part of this set now - Philippians and Ephesians - (1955) and Ephesian and Colossians (1957).
I am so glad that F. • Re: Logos Free Book of the Month for August is now live.

1 Peter in this series by Terrance Callan was a hidden jewel. Jude by David deSilva was a good one, too. More and more I am liking this series. Very pleased to see these quality resources for free and near-free books of the month!

  • Re: Is the Perseus Classics Collection worth the space?

Several great suggestions. Thank you. The fact that you can hide resources I think is the key here. I did not even know that was possible until now. Also, having the ability to exclude Perseus as needed from regular searches would probably be very helpful too. I appreciate the input.

  • Is the Perseus Classics Collection worth the space?

There are several volumes in the Perseus Classics Collection that I am interested in. However, the vast majority of these works, especially the Latin ones, would just sit in my library collecting digital dust. I don't know how much space this 1,100+ volume collection takes up, either. Would it be simpler to create a separate account for the use of Perseus

  • Re: Suggestion: Ability to scroll with footnotes on page

Hi Denise, I wouldn't mind a scrolling PDF-type page view as you suggest. It would be even nicer if LOGOS could somehow incorporate scrolling with footnotes without page breaks. As to how, I'm not sure. I'm guessing lengthy footnotes would complicate the programming. The reason I'm advocating for this feature is that, to me, a print book with the footnotes
Does your mouse have a wheel that you could use to do that?
I am on a laptop, so I am using my touchpad to scroll, but it is the same thing as scrolling with a wheel on a mouse.

  • Suggestion: Ability to scroll with footnotes on page

Someone might have already suggested this, but I searched and could not find a thread on it. Currently, as far as I can tell, the "Show Footnotes on Page" option for a resource only shows footnotes at the bottom if Columns are set to something other than "None." I would actually prefer this view to the having to hover over the footnote superscript every

  • Re: Bug: Bible References Only Display on First Page When Exporting

Thank you for the reply. I am glad that at least I am not doing anything wrong on my end. Something that might help is that this only became an issue when I upgraded to 6. Also, it might be the length of the document that is being exported that could be causing the issue, as the specific document I am trying to export is over several hundred pages.

  • Re: Bug: Bible References Only Display on First Page When Exporting

Wondering if there is any update on this bug. The latest update (6.1) still has this bug. This really is causing an issue, as I would like to export my Bible notes that I keep in a running list. But, after the first page upon export I have to guess what the Scripture reference is. Thanks in advance for looking into this soon.

  • [resolved] Bug: Bible References Only Display on First Page When Exporting

I have only been experiencing this bug since the upgrade to Logos 6. I have a pretty large Bible notes file that is sorted by Bible reference. When I go to Print/Export the document, the preview window displays Bible references for the first page only. Clicking through the preview pages, the notes are still there with the note indicator displaying.
