I thought this thread was referring to British Israelism or a Scottish fork off of that.

Great article! Thanks Rosie, as always. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matt 5:9

Unix, I think I understand you. Something about what you are saying sounds very familiar. God bless you! One thing that has always helped me in the past is understanding justification by faith. I can recommend almost anything by Luther, especially his commentary on Galatians. It helped me anchor myself against the vicious assaults of the ENEMY. Luther

Much thanks, Paul! Next time I see that kind of thing, I'll just assume it to be the case.
-
Hi Mark! A miscommunication on my part. I was not seeking to point out something wrong, but merely to understand this by means of confirmation from other users. You are probably right. I just needed to know this was the case, since I didn't notice it in my other books. This fact should be archived for future reference.

Today I was reading Thielman's Theology of the NT, when I encountered time warp or something similar, please note exhibit A: Since I need to read a certain number of pages for a class, this is a little confusing. What can be done about this? Does this kind of numbering occur in the printed edition as well?

Mega benefits, man, mega benefits! Let me tell you that formerly with the Logos 4 there was always a lag when I clicked something. I had gotten so used to it that I didn't realize it. But dude! The Logos 5 engine is snappy! So far, I don't see a single drawback. If I had the cash, I would have purchased the crossgrade. But I still get something great

By the way Bradley, does it have anything to do with the NIV being a functional translation rather than a formal translation? I imagine that would make it hard.
-
Thanks Bradley for the info. I'm sorry about being impatient. I hope you will forgive me. I repent of my comment about "excuses." It was intemperate. Let's just say I can't wait. I know you work hard on these things.

When I bought Logos several years ago, one of the things that I was happy to see advertised was a NIV interlinear. That is one of things that enticed me to buy Logos Bible Software. This was something promised and advertised. I have been waiting and waiting, and since then probably millions of dollars (right?) have been spent to develop new versions

Hi Steven! By all means get the Logos 5 engine!! The performance enhancements alone are far worth the 5 minute download!! I am so happy they have offered the free engine. Thanks, Logos!
-
I restarted and the program completely flipped out on me and stopped working. I am going to try a complete reinstall again. Good news though, after I restarted everything seemed snappier until Logos has stopped working.

Hi! I had to renovate my computer, and in the process purged Logos from my system. I am now redownloading all 7 gigs of it, but it is much, much slower than ever before.I started early this morning at around 9:00 am. And now it is 9:00pm and only at 25%. Why are there no server options? Is there a way of throwing some rocket fuel behind it or something

Hi! I finally gave up on Logos 4 because it is a behemoth. I cannot afford Logos 5, so I decided to go back to Libronix, at least temporarily. The thing is, do I have to go to my orders page and download my resources one by one (I don't have a CD). There are hundreds, nay, thousands. It would take me the better part of 3 weeks to download them all.
-
Wow Milford! You guys are setting me up for the next few years' reading . I had no idea there was so much available.
-
It sounds reasonable to offer both options. I am glad and will take it at your word that no-one will be forced into one or another mold. Yes choice is the American way! Now I understand you better.
-
Elnwood, Thanks! The list is helpful. I am going to take good note of that. I wish Logos would do one thing: on the product page give a summary of the theological positions each author espouses. I have returned or exchanged many items due to this problem. It's almost impossible to tell. Although a variety if opinions is necessary in research, nevertheless

This sounds very bad. I personally think this idea is like selling yourself into slavery. If you like giving control of your life to just a few board of directors, that's great. If you're like me, though, I value my freedom. I don't want to be bound to endless payments. I don't want to have to pay a subscription fee! No doubt is is far more profitable

Ok, that helps a lot. The one by Edward J. Young I have seen referenced in other commentaries. And furthermore, a cursory examination of the front page stimulates interest. I think I am going to choose that one. Thanks for the suggestions!

Well, let's say a commentary series and a commentary on Revelation and/or the prophetic books. I probably cannot afford a whole series. I recently have been studying Isaiah, and had to read a dispensational commentary on it for a class. It stretches credibility. Having recently aligned more with the amillenial approach, I suppose what I am looking for
