  • Notes Strategy - Taking and Organizing Notes

Notes may seem straightforward but when I started about 5 years ago I experimented with a few different ways of keeping notes. I have the book Bible Readings for the Home . In it, all the Subjects are covered by topic so that most of the Bible verses are grouped together by Topic. This is the most convenient way to gather information and find it later

David I do the same thing, although it is getting harder to break the copy protection code now. I have several Personal Books that I have copied from PDFs and .mobi formats to MS Word format. Several can be found in the SDA faithlife site in the documents page. All the posted books are in the public domain so they are free. There are probably 40 or

  • Re: Book Suggestions

You can find Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers by Leroy Froom, all four volumes here in the SDA Faithlife page. https://faithlife.com/seventh-day-adventist/documents They are personal Books and are free courtesy of JohnB. There are many others there as well that I and several other SDA faithlife members have put there. The only problem with these books

  • Re: Problem with SDA resource

I don't understand that. I have never seen these writings, ever, over the course of many years printed in the fashion of hanging paragraph format. Even the previous Ellen G. White library before Logos 7 was not published in that format by Faithlife. In some cases it would have been better if they had never updated the Ellen White library if they are

  • Re: Patriarchs and Prophets

I have sent a fix request for these works several times. Looks like Faithlife is done with those works and has moved on. It seems to me that our "Tratition" is not important to them any longer. If we could only get them to go back and repair what they have already published I would be completely happy even if they never published any more new works

  • Re: Currently overseeing our products

If we've been abandoned, I am at least thankful that they did get out the important resources that they did. As Adventists we have the most important resources published. I do wish that they would go back to some of the Ellen White resources and finish them up. They left some of the resources in hanging indent paragraph style which is not a proper format

  • Re: Is Anyone Out There

I have noticed the same thing as Lynden. For the last year it has been very quiet even in the Faithlife SDA group. There are only a few posts per month there also. I hope that means that everyone it too busy studying to be on the forums?

  • Re: Indexing Questions?

Thanks, Mark. The 32 MB is the RAM I have. The only thing I have running, besides this browser, is Logos and the Task manager says that most of my memory is being consumed by Logos Bible Software Indexer. My CPU is a new Ryzen 1800X and is not running over 12% even with the indexer running. My library is only Bronze plus several other books that I bought

  • Indexing Questions?

I just installed Logos on my new PC. I installed it the with a normal installation, allowing all the resources to be downloaded. When Indexing began I could not wait for the whole index to complete so I closed Logos7 before the index had completed. After a restart, indexing began again all over and only got to about 50% after all night indexing, and

  • Re: Evaluating the benefits of Logos 7 Basic

I hate to mention it here but I have had similar experience with the free version of Logos. It is not very useful unless you buy in on some level. For the members with less means they will not be able to do that, also with members of moderated means it is also difficult to get them to purchase something of value like Logos. I also tell them that buying

I have the 42" 4K screen. For me this is the ideal size. I get 4K resolution with approximately the same pixel size as a Small desktop monitor. That means it's like putting 4 monitor screens together with no gap. With my eyesight that is great for font size and for desktop real-estate. I can put Logos up full size and a web browser next to it so I can

  • Re: MacArthur's New Book?

"Johnny Mac" is quite an orator. I enjoy his logic and straightforwardness when it comes to preaching the message. Most of the time I agree with him but not always. It seems like you could say all one has to say on a particular subject in one book unless your thoughts have evolved on the subject. It seems that they may be straining on the subject here

Your probably correct Mark. It's more about disk access speed, and RAM. I have one resource that I use frequently that takes a while to load. I have complained about it before, but nobody else seems to have a problem with it, so it must be my computer. I will get a new 500 GB SSD that is about 4 times faster than my current SSD. I don't have to be an

Thanks Dave for the reply. That's the sort of info I was looking for. I am not a gamer so I want to run applications like Logos and MS Word, and some church video software. I have an ~ 5 year old i7 930 (I think that's gen 2, X58 Chipset). It has served me well, but it started to fail with the memory, so before It dies I want to replace it with something

  • New i7 7700K or AMD 1700X

Does anybody know if Logos is a multi-threaded application? It seems like Logos is taking a lot of Horsepower these days to run fast. I am in the process of building a new computer and Logos is the primary application on my computer. I was wondering if Logos would benefit from more cores (8 for AMD) or more from speed (Intel i7 7700K). I have a 4K 42

I have a Laptop and a Desktop PC. I have Logos installed on both. I use the Desktop PC the most because the Laptop just doesn't have the horsepower needed even for Logos. My laptop is a Dell and less than a year old has a i7 mobile chip in it and lots of RAM and a 1TB HDD. It can't keep up with my old (5 years) i7 desktop PC. As far as Mac, too Overpriced

  • popVerse for Chrome

If you are looking for something to read versed on a website instead of switching to logos and then looking it up, there is a Chrome Extension called popVerse to help you do that. It is very convenient when the site does not support Logos' Reftagger. Many will find this very helpful while reading other websites where you want to review the accuracy

  • Re: Verse Finder by Biblesoft

See also " PopVerse Bible Reference System" Google Chrome Extension. You can use it when the site isn't supported by reftagger. But I found out the hard way you have to disable the extension, not just turn it off, when you are not using it, because it will conflict with reftagger. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/popverse-bible-reference/bacpgelchdkdpdhpfejnckhmnodlkfik
