  • Re: E-Book Reader

I just want to add a vote for the Nook to this discussion. It may not be the best e-book reader, but it is the one I have, and I enjoy using it to read away from my house. I can take to the gym and ready while on a treadmill, and it is much handier when traveling than booting up a laptop. I know the iPad is the hot new thing, but I already own the Nook

Might there be any chance that there will be a Logos app for Nook that doesn't require any special workarounds at all?

  • Re: Video driver resets repeatedly

Video Driver Version: 8.850.0.0 This is for a desktop, not a laptop. Video card brand and model is XFX HD5750. It has 1 GB of DDR5 video ram. The monitors use the HDMI connection natively (i.e. no adapters to RGB). The OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I just checked the XFX web site, and I notice there is an update to their driver software that

  • User File management in Logos 5

One of my frustrations with Logos 4 is the File > Open list. It is not an elegant way to present a large number of personal files. I like to create handouts for my weekly Bible study, and so after several weeks the list is large and getting larger. There are no sorting options and no filter by type of document. Is the user document management improved

  • 2013-2014 Standard Lesson Commentary

I am teaching using the Standard Quarterly lessons in the 2012-2013 Standard Lesson Commentary, and it ends at the end of this month. The 2013-2014 Lesson Commentary is "under development," but I cannot find an ETA for completion. Is it expected before next month? Or shall I find a print version to get me through the first quarter of the new segment

  • Re: Feature Suggestion: Dropbox App

After trying to put my lesson notes into a "notes" document, I realize now that this tool was for adding my own footnote style comments to the Bible text. It is not well suited for a lesson that draws from multiple texts across several Bible books. So it looks like I'm back to using Word for that, and so I can share my notes in Dropbox the same way

  • Feature Suggestion: Dropbox App

I just discovered the ability to publish some of my self-made document types to the documents.logos.com site unique to my login. This is a great feature that somehow I have missed the whole time until today. It got me wishing that I could also publish these documents to my Dropbox account, which is the cloud resource I use for almost everything else

  • Re: Feature Suggestion: Dropbox App

Up until now I have copied Word docs into a Dropbox folder so that I can open them on my Nook while I am at church and can use the notes directly from there. This saves having to print my lessons to paper. Sometimes I supplement the Word doc with a PowerPoint presentation and open it on my laptop instead of the Nook. I was thinking that I could now

  • Locate and then Move Logos Library files

I want to move my Logos library files off of the C:\ drive (which I suspect is failing) to a secondary hard drive. What is the best procedure for identifying the location of the files currently and then moving them to the new location, updating the software to know where the books are?

  • Re: Logos 6 stop working

I'm a little surprised to have gotten no reply from Logos since my post two days ago. The software is practically useless to me because it crashes every time I try to use it for more than a few minutes. I have tried just leaving it open, and it seems that if I am not actively using it, it will not crash. But when I am scrolling around through Bible

  • Re: As others have reported, my Logos 6 software is crashing for no apparent reason

Yes, these are the log files that were created up to the point of the crash and before I tried again. Every time I work with the software, it crashes. So it won't be a problem to check the event log once I get back home. The reason I can't get on the phone is that I am at work away from my PC during the day and then have small children that need my

  • System locks up on Bible Word Study

Last night I encountered a series of steps that consistently caused my PC to freeze and become completely unresponsive to any mouse movement or key press. I had to use the power button to cycle the power every time I tried the following steps. 1. Open Logos 8. 2. Use the main topic launcher to start a guide on Deacons. 3. Clicked on the word "Deacon

I suspect there is a bad "sector" on the hard drive. I put sector in quotation marks because it is a solid state drive, and I don't know if it is physically organized at all like a magnetic disk drive. I have an app to monitor the health of the drive, and it reports everything is okay, but every once in a while the system locks up for no apparent reason

I ran Windows diagnostics on both the memory and the drive, and no errors were reported with either one. I don't know what to try next to find the problem, but at least if it happens while I work in Logos, I will have the log file to check.

  • Re: Notes

In L7 I made a notebook called "The Life of Christ outside the Gospels," and in it I had a note for each major event in the life of Christ that is described in the New Testament from Romans through Revelation. The same event could be described in multiple places, so within each note there were multiple verse references. I had arranged the notes in chronological

GaoLu, That is helpful, and it will be useful as I teach through the rest of Kings and Chronicles. But I don't understand why a similar layout cannot be achieved with the Timeline tool. This seems like the kind of thing the timeline was built to handle, but it doesn't.

  • Re: A couple wants and needs with Faithlife/Feature Request

I have a feature request related to reading plans as well. I'd like to be able to edit them after they have been created and shared, without having to start completely over with a new one. For example, I posted a reading plan for Galatians and Ephesians based on my original lesson plans for teaching in Sunday school, but due to some circumstances changing

  • Feature Request: Take notes with a stylus

Is there a way that I can open Logos 6 on my Microsoft Surface or Apple iPad and write notes with a stylus? I'd love to underline and to annotate the Bible text directly with freeform writing. I'd also love to be able to handwrite notes in a notes window adjacent to the Bible text. How great it would be to do Precept inductive marking using my stylus

I am using Windows 10. The default for the OS is the Edge browser, but I have noticed that the Faithlife site along with several others does not work well in the Edge environment. The page refreshes every time it regains focus after losing it, and this means that edits inside a form are lost if I leave the page without finalizing them. Something about

  • Visual Copy to Faithlife results in hyperlink text, not image

When I post from Logos 6 to Facebook with Visual Copy, the result is always the image I posted. But when I post from Logos 6 to Faithlife the exact same way, the result is often merely hyperlink text with no image embedded in the post. Sometimes the image appears, but it is inconsistent. Am I doing something wrong, or is this something that can be fixed
