• Re: Slow Logos 4
Alright, Mark, come back to reality. I work at Toshiba and we all have Windows machines. I don't know a single person in our corporation that reformats monthly or yearly. I haven't had to reformat at work, or at home for over a decade. Be careful taking the words from a couple people on the Internet for gospel truth. Your

Ouch! I know you guys love your PCs, but is this really what it takes to have Windows function well over an extended period of time? If OS X and Linux don't require a complete reformat every few months, I wonder why Microsoft can't figure out how to do the same thing?

I'm curious about this too. I know you can do this in Accordance in about 3 seconds (1 second per mouse click). No idea how to do it with Logos. Anyone else have an answer?

Sorry... Don't know why it's requiring a password. Here's a new link and the password is "automator" (without the quotes): files.me.com/mark_ allison/ sc7as4

I was trying of find differences between items in two folders, and this Automator workflow really helped. The link is listed below. http://files.me.com/mark_allison/a02phv

I have the same problem as Rick. My Windows machine lists the following resources that are not on either of my Macs: afsyntaxgraphs.lbxclv ESVNTREVINT.lbxlls ESVOTREVINT.lbxlls NIRV.lbxlls TNIV.lbxlls

Does anyone have any idea why adding these to my resource folder still doesn't add them to my Library. Anyone from Logos care to speculate?

Yes, they both did. And they both had identical libraries under 1.2.2. Mark

  • Two Macs, Logos 4 on both, different Library items

I have two Macs, both running Logos 4, but one shows more resources that the other. I decided to run an Automator action to compare the two Resource folder items. Below are the items that appear in one Resource folder (and Library), but not the other. By the way, when I add these resources to the folder which didn't contain them originally, they still

  • Re: Missing Concordances and other resources

I have Logos v.4 on two machines, but they constantly report a different amount of resources in their Libraries. Updating to Alpha 3 added about 6 resources on one machine, but it's still about 15 less than the other. And no, I'm not going to sift through 1,000 or more resources to find the ones that are missing.

Good thinking Michael, and that may be the difference for Jazanias, but the difference in resources that I'm seeing are between two different Macs. One install of v.4 has 30 fewer books in the library than the other. And yet the contents of the resources folder on both machines are exactly the same.

  • Re: Logos for Mac Alpha 2 - Release Notes

Michael, Thanks for the advice. I might give it a shot, but I have a deep-seated aversion to putting anything made by Microsoft on my machines. It all started when, as a Windows user, Microsoft deactivated my license for Windows XP and told me I wasn't authorized to use the version of Windows I had installed (and been using for 6 months). I was holding

To sum up the advice from Logos to Mac users: Just install Windows on your Mac and Logos 4 will run great! "Designed for You. Trusted by Scholars. Right for Mac. Just as long as you run Windows"

Michael, I'm not at all worried about being cheated. I just don't like being treated like a beta tester. I don't like the fact that I paid for an updated version of the software and ended up with a virtually useless alpha, without being told beforehand that that was the case. I don't like that fact that I paid for an upgrade to the Original Languages
THey chose to give users the opportunity. They did not force every user to Beta test. If it is too difficult for you , don't do it.
They made EVERY Mac user an alpha tester by selling every Mac user that upgraded to Logos 4 an alpha version of their software. I'm just trying to use the software they sold me. [quote user

  • Re: Indexing taking waaaaaaaaaaaay to long

I, along with many others, didn't ASK to be an alpha tester. I paid my money to upgrade to Logos 4 and an alpha version was all I received. If Logos didn't want me and many others to be alpha testers, they shouldn't have sold me an alpha version of their software.
