Graham, The search was an everything search. I was able to get that window closed and update my layout quickly, but alas, it did not crash! Since closing it and updating the layout, I have been unable to replicate the issue. Thank you! -Jonathan

That seems to have done it. Thank you!

Nearly every time I open a certain layout (entitled "Heroes of the Faith") for sermon prep, about 10 seconds after I open it Logos crashes and quits. I've replicated it many times. Can anyone help me figure out what it might be? Logs attached. 2018.LogosLogs.jonathanbradley.20210119-054759.zip

Keep Smiling, So did you get it to work on Word?
Hypothesis is Word update implemented Command-Shift-E keyboard shortcut for Word to "Turn Change Tracking on or off" Keep Smiling
THAT! That explains SO much. That explains all the crazy red underlining all over my sermon prep as I was making some changes tonight. I googled and figured out what was going

Hey Keep Smiling, I tried the keyboard shortcut you have, Command-Shift-U with Apple's Pages, and it worked just fine. I tried some other combinations, but none of them worked (I don't remember which combinations I tried though). So, thank you!
Jonathan- I would likely find another Bible program to use if Logos didn't allow this feature. It's a great time saver. Biblesoft had a similar function.
Now I have only been aware of this feature since today, but don’t you think leaving Logos over one small feature is a bit rash? While yes, it is nice, the
I don't know about Word but it seems to work ok in Pages.
Mike, for some reason, I cannot get the keyboard shortcut to work in Pages. It works if I right click and go through the menu that way, or by going through the file menu, but even if I change the keyboard shortcut, it does not work. Any ideas as to how to fix

I learn something new every day! I hope this gets resolved, as it is something I will use greatly in the future!
-
Can you link the instructions to set this up, even though it's not working? I'd like to tinker with it some, unless someone else has a fix for it first. Thanks!

I know that this post is only two days old, however...bump.

Bine, Welcome to the Logos forums! As mentioned above, you can use the free engine and use it well! Every month, there is a free book offered at www.logos.com/free-book-of-the-month , as well as others that appear throughout the month. Also, there are many free resources available all the time, some are here: https://www.logos.com/search?query=price

And I completely forgot there is an Inductive Bible Study Workflow that Logos provides in the Guides > Workflows menu!
-
Good evening Ken! I don't know if Logos provides a specified inductive Bible study, however, there are custom Workflows that you can get which work through inductive Bible study. If you click on your "Docs" menu and then click on "Public" and you search for "inductive", you will find several resources you can look into, both Workflows and Guide Templates

I was just looking at the settings for the program scaling (I've never really looked at those setting options before). Change your program scaling to 100% and content to 120%, and that should have mostly the same effect without messing with the update popup.
-
My program scaling is set to 120%. When I set it at 100% the problem disappears. I would rather have it set to 120%, except for this annoying issue.
I know it's a little more work, but have you tried keeping Logos at 100% then resizing the font in the windows you need to have it bigger?
-
I have no earthly idea what causes the problem. I’ve never had it do anything like that before. if You figure it out, please let me/us know. I’m very intrigued.
-
I have the problem only if my main window is wider than my monitor.
MJ, I don't have an update or the bubble there, so I can't test this, but can you resize that popup window? Maybe I'll buy something so I can force it to do that to make the bubble. Hmmm...
