  • Re: WWDC Statistic

David, One of my points though is that the amount of time and investment in producing a full application for Macs was done without the 10% market share that Bob has pointed to in postings on the Windows phone app. Putting together a Windows Phone app (and now with Microsoft working for universal scaling of Windows apps across devices including Windows

  • WWDC Statistic

I keep trying to post this and for some reason I get logged out of the forum and can no longer access Logos pages of any kind when I use the forum. I don't know what's up with that, but I'm trying again. During WWDC Tim Cook announced that Mac user base had reached 80 million. The overall PC market is over 1 billion. Interestingly, Microsoft says it

  • Re: Windows Phone 8 App

Having had a Windows phone now for about 6 months, I know I won't be going back to an Android phone, my previous phone experience. I've never had a IPhone, but had an Ipad and gave it to my son so I could have a new surface, and couldn't be happier. I do think Logos is missing the boat on the windows ecosystem, especially in the mobile apps. I just

  • Thanks for an update to Windows App

I wanted to take a moment to thank you Logos for an update to the Windows App. As I've posted at other places in the forum for changes and updates, I feel like I should say thanks for any progress in this direction. I find it running much snappier on my Surface RT and it also does well on my Acer Aspire laptop. I also like the progress bar at the bottom

  • Re: A Case for an Improved Windows Store App

I've posted my interest in Windows 8 apps and Windows Phone App in other places, but I want to add my support for this thread too. I know that Logos refers to Surface and RT market share as reasons for not working on the app, and while I think it will be a growing market (love the integration now that I have a Surface RT, Lumia 928 and an 8.1 laptop

Just picked up a Windows phone after having used Android in the past. Here's my vote for a Logos app.

  • Re: Pastors question to me....

I don't know about BW and it's Original Language work, but as a Lutheran pastor who has used Logos since I graduated in '95, I've never regretted having Logos and since they have a lot of Lutheran resources and its always growing, that's what I'd recommend. And I do believe that Logos is competitive on the Original Language side of things, with some

  • Re: I own a Windows tablet and would like a better Logos app for it

I know all about the RT write off and that Logos is following the Windows 8 App situation but I do believe that there is a need for improvement of the Windows 8 App. With 8.1 I think there will be more uptake on Windows 8 and the need for a better App. It seems to me that with the millions of Windows computers that there will be a greater market for

  • Kenneth Bailey Collection

Some time ago I suggested getting Kenneth Bailey books into Logos and just discovered that some are available but they are part of collections like the IVP Jesus Studies collection. I know some others also expressed interest at the time, so I'm just recommending again that Logos see about putting together a collection of just Kenneth Bailey's books

  • Re: Concordia-The Lutheran Confessions

    M. J. I think maybe what Kyle is talking about is the reading plan which is in the introductory part of the book. I just looked at the section on my iPad and it's hyperlinked. Am I right Kyle? Or if not, maybe you'd be able to enlighten us on how you did it. Thanks.

  • Re: Kindle Fire Usability

Don't forget about using the Send to Kindle app from Amazon... it has versions for Windows and Mac and works with a variety of browsers or mobile devices. Most of the files you send are converted into Kindle format, though a pdf is sent as a pdf document... I have uploaded old pdf's to my Fire (original) and it opens them well, you can rotate the screen

  • Re: Concordia-The Lutheran Confessions

Kyle, I haven't done anything like that, but I have a reading plan set up in Logos for Concordia. You can set up the reading plan to read the book in the amount of time you want, with the specifics you want, so while it doesn't match up with the 52 week plan in Concordia directly, it accomplishes the same purpose. I'm posting a screen shot which shows

  • Re: Kindle Paperwhite with Logos App?

The Kindle Paperwhite is not really a tablet, but more a dedicated E-book Reader. While it has the experimental browser, you'd be reading books in a browser through things like Logos Biblia or a google books web page. Amazon's tablet offering would be the Kindle Fire. Otherwise as Paul says your best bet would be an Android tablet of some kind.

  • Re: The Greatest Book Video Series logos 5 not working, was working in 4.6

I am able to watch the video series on my Logos 5, and while in 4.6 I had to open it up as a separate window to play the video, it now plays in the panel correctly. I'm running it in Windows on a laptop recently upgraded to Windows 8. When it was in Logos 4.6 on my laptop running Windows 7, it would play the audio but I didn't see any video when it

  • Re: Help... Resources and Updates Aren't Downloading

Richard, tommy did help us out, and you were on the right track. It was connected to the BITS process. He had us run bitsadmin with a /reset which cleared things out and Logos downloaded resources and update with no problem. I've filed it away for the future. By the way, I should have mentioned you run it from command prompt. Thanks Tommy and Richard
