Ah! Great! Thanks! I was misled by the documentation: Open a Bible to any passage. Click on " Tools ". Select " Cited By " https://www.logos.com/training/logos5/cited-by

I've found "Cited by" but as far as I can see it is limited to scripture passages. I'm after something broader than that.

  • Works that reference this passage...

Hi all, Is there a way to see a list of other resources in one's library which refer to the passage one is reading? I'm not talking about passage of scripture, but any passage. For instance say I am reading the first paragraph of Calvin's Institutes, and I want to see how later writers have interacted with this passage. Is there a quick way to see everyone

Fantastic thank you! Also while I'm here is there a way to batch disable "popular highlights"... I suspect it is slowing my resources down?

  • Highlighting linked verse in a lexicon?

Hey! In Accordance, when you open a lexicon from a text, the verse you opened the lexicon from is highlighted in red if it is mentioned in the lexicon. For instance, if you open HALOT by triple clicking on "re'shit" in Genesis 1:1, the lexicon opens to the entry for the word, and under the first meaning the reference Gen1:1 is automatically highlighted

  • Re: Logos on eInk/eReader Device

Logos could write a slimmed-down version of their app specially for e-ink readers? I would be interested. Think about it: everyone who owns a kindle (which is me) spent money on a device to read books from just one retailer (Amazon). I have a bigger library on Logos than on Amazon... I would be prepared to spend a little to have my Logos library easily

MJ if you wrote a blog about that history showing the importance of understanding the Vulgate, I'd read it. Let me know if ever you write it!

Appreciate the update. What's the question that's being answered? We will still be able to keep our resources right?

Perhaps the Australian school system isn't as thorough - both myself and O'Brien hail from down under, where we convicts steal anything we can get our hands on.

Sounds like you were taught a good system. I'm far from a scholar, but so far I've never been taught a method like that. We have of course been warned against plagiarism, but perhaps not taught the techniques of avoiding it so thoroughly as you have. Not condoning his behaviour - I don't think anyone here is. I was just thinking through how such a thing

  • Re: O'Brien NSBT volumes

The example I saw was almost verbatim from FF Bruce, and Bruce was attributed in the footnote. It was just not indicated that his actual words were being used. I can see how that could easily happen. To understand how easy it would be to make these mistakes, consider this. As you take notes from books, sometimes you write it in your own words. Sometimes

Why shut Logos down? For me it's because Logos has an impact on battery life that seems bigger than almost any other app. i would say just having it running in the background takes my battery from 6 hours down to 3 or 4

  • Re: outdated resources

I think needing such new sources is pretty niche. For most users quality and usefulness is not a function of recent publication There aren't even that many good quality commentaries or monographs written on a topic in a 10 year window. Maybe what you really want is journals? But to always be on the cutting edge of research would get pretty expensive

  • How long do these introductory prices usually last?

I have academic discount, which is pretty substantial. Should I feel any time pressure to decide whether or not to buy a base package, aside from the time my academic discount ends?
