• Mac Alpha 8 vs. PC

I have loaded L4 on my Mac and PC. While the PC version has considerably more features, the Mac alpha is much faster (Perhaps because it doesn't have as many features?). The L4a on my PC has crashed a few times and it runs very slow. Even the start up takes time: The splash screen appears on my PC and takes 30 sec. to load the Home Page (versus 8 sec

  • Re: Get rid of the Recent Reading Lists

Thank you for the tip on how to deselect them. I couldn't figure out what in the world they were, and why I would want them on my home page. Even after your explanation, I'm not sure I can see a purpose for them, personally. Thanks again.

  • Get rid of the Recent Reading Lists

What are these reading lists anyway. Whenever I click on Tool - Reading Lists - Edit, my program crashes and closes. Who is Victor Dela Cruz and MJ Smith, and how do I remove them? Sorry, I just don't get it.

  • Re: Understanding Layouts

Thanks, I will check out the video. I did a search on the Logos site for "Layouts" and did not get any hits for videos. Thanks for the link!

Can someone give a brief overview of "Layouts" and their purpose?
Just curious to see what the Mac version looks like ?
Just picture a fairly blank screen with a few icons at the top, and that's about what it looks like. Of course you can read a book and do some searches, but it's not much right now. I think with the Alpha version, the idea is not to have a program that looks or works
The indexing takes a long, long time.
Donovan, aren't the indexes based on how many, and what kinds of resources a person has. For example, I downloaded a MacArthur study guide this morning and the indexing took about 5min. Then, I ordered and downloaded the Tyndale Bible Dictionary and it took longer, about 15
The best way to get around this for now is to size the window so that it does not fill up the whole screen, thereby allowing some margins for the popup windows.
Excellent. Thank you. We should all stay positive--life is too short.

  • Better than expected

I have to say that the A8 release is better than I expected. It certainly has a ways to go, but so far I have had few problems. One of the issues I just noticed is that when I hover over a verse in a book, the window pops up partially off the screen and I can't see it. If the verse is located near the middle of the page it is fine, but if it's off to

  • Re: Loading, indexing, preparing

Thanks Jack. It really is a lot of fun being in on something brand new and in a sense, helping the developers test it out. I think it is exciting that Logos is even allowing Alpha to be seen. Most companies would not. Of course, a good Christian run company should do things differently (and better). I have a PC at home that I am going to load it on

  • Loading, indexing, preparing

I inserted the Logos 4 disc to my Mac. Indexing began immediately and took about ten minutes or so. I clicked on the icon and it bounced but would not load. I restarted computer and clicked icon again (success). It asked for my username, password and serial number. Now it is preparing my library and it is on stage 1 or 3: Has been in this mode for about
