  • Re: Import Logos 3 notes to Logos 4

Aha! Computers sure are picky. After changing the folder's name and launching Logos3, I stepped back to watch the frog turn into a prince. Alas, no prince. No new button. (and no new menu option, either.)

Thanks, Mark. At least I know where to look, so I can run an extra backup.

Bradley, George, Mark: Thanks for your replies. Here are more clues. 1. I downloaded the Logos3 script to add the custom toolbar which would update Notes for export. (Note to lurkers: Firefox can't do this. You must use Internet Explorer.) 2. The next step is to "save the script to the Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE [MyDocuments]\Libronix

  • Logos 4 user files

In Logos 3 it was possible to specify a different path for the location of user files (for example: Annotations). This made it easier to keep a local backup copy. Is it possible to do this in Logos 4? (Hope, hope, hope...)

  • Import Logos 3 notes to Logos 4

At last Logos 4.5 supports Notes the way I like! Thanks, Logos Team! Now I need to import Notes from Logos 3 ==> Logos 4. The more I look for the steps in the Forums, Wiki, etc. the more I can't find them. Any clues would be appreciated.

  • Re: Bookmarks

One way to get around the limit is to use named layouts instead. I keep a layout for each book (or collection) I am studying. This way when I return, not only does the screen show me the place where I left off, but also the commentaries that applied to that book.

Thanks indeed! Considering all the work that has to go into every resource to make it compatible with the rest of Logos, this is amazing.

If the Logos tools had been available when I got serious about studying the Bible fifty years ago, there's no telling where I might be today. Way to go, Logos-folk!

Okay, let's grant your wish, with the condition that you now own Logos Bible Software. You have expended much time, energy, and money to provide the finest Bible product in the land. You hire top employees and pay them well for their work. You sell it at a reasonable price, and make little profit. So you sell a scholarly book to a Bible student in the

  • Re: can the same note appear in 2 notefiles?

    >>since it is one and only note<< In data-speak, this is called a "relational database." Relational databases are a wonderful way to store data. But if your current database is one of the other types, you can't add this capability easily, if at all. One of the drawbacks of relational databases is, if you lose the link between files, there is no good

  • Re: Logos 5: What would you like to see

I agree with MJ Smith that perfecting Logos4 must come first, and it might last a long time afterward. I still use Logos3 for lack of capability for Notes. If you do rewrite Logos again, strip it down to bare essentials: Searches and Notes. Nothing else matters to me.

The sources that others have cited will give broad overviews of the doctrines they emphasize. May I suggest that the flavor of individual congregations within any denomination may tend toward the vertical dimension (the connection of the worshiper to God), and others may tend toward the horizontal dimension (worshiper to worshiper--family). I prefer

If Doctrine and Covenants were included, would you want a particular edition, or would you want to see all the changes made over the years. Mormons might not appreciate all the history.
