  • Re: Trouble with searching "intersects"

Thank you for your answers--I see a couple of workarounds that I can use. Using the reverse interlinear ESV, the template does not work when I enter data: <Lemma = lls/he/שׁוב> INTERSECTS repent This returns 0 hits. But when I manually do this: שׁוב INTERSECT "REPENT" it works. Maybe a bug? If not, some more context documentation for the templates

  • Trouble with searching "intersects"

I'm trying to find all the instances where שׁ֖וּב is translated "repent." I get no results. As I experiment with the search template, "Hebrew word translated as" I get no results. I'm using the Morph tab on searching, and have selected Gen - 2 Chronicles and am using BHS Westminster 4.2. I have the Platinum level of software, which tells me also that

This is something of a disappointment. I like to read the the cross references from an open passage list alongside the Bible text I'm working from.

  • Save to Passage List

I notice a change, but maybe I'm missing things. In Logos 7 I could mark (select) a passage of the Bible, or any book, and the context menu allowed me to "save to passage list." This would take each cross reference or footnote in the selected text that contains Bible verses to create a new passage list. I can't seem to find that. When I see "save to

  • Re: Setting Highlight to Active Notebook

That works. So it also means that the only way to open and keep open, a notebook is to filter it open. Is that correct?

I wouldn't want to take it away from anyone, but a way to toggle it on or off would be nice.

Probably. I'll have to figure out a work-around.

  • Setting Highlight to Active Notebook

It seems that something has changed. I have been using the online tutorials about notes, and I thought it was working, but now it isn't: When I set Highlighting "Solid Colours" or "Emphasis markup" to "Active Notebook," notes that are highlighted become notes, but are not assigned to the active notebook to no notebook. Is the active notebook something

  • Disabling the Carousel Feature

When I am reading a resource, I sometimes like to use the down arrow key to scroll, but inadvertently hit a Left or Right key, which moves me to another resource. If I double or triple tap, I'm two or three resources away. I really never use the carousel feature in Logos--I don't browse my resources in that manner. Is there any way to shut it off, or

  • Re: Most Important Logos 8 Bugs and Improvements for Academic/Seminary Users

I could certainly live with this--if a hyperlink to the referent to the Ibid was made available so jut by hovering over it I could see it, or go to it if available in Logos.

  • Re: Most Important Logos 8 Bugs and Improvements for Academic/Seminary Users

If I'm reading a text, I see a footnote. If the footnote says "Ibid" page 27, I have no idea to what the Ibid refers. I have to find the previous footnote, but it might say "Ibid" as well. So I may have to search for a number of footnotes until one doesn't say "Ibid," but actually gives the resource location. Footnote markers are small in Logos, and

I would like to be able to build a bibliography within Logos where I can add resources that are not in Logos. Any bibliography I build in Logos will be incomplete. This would be a nice addition.

  • Re: Most Important Logos 8 Bugs and Improvements for Academic/Seminary Users

Instead of a footnote saying "Ibid" which makes it very difficult to locate the original source, could they all refer to the full resource? Given the size/type/colour of the preceding footnotes, it can make for a difficult hunt for the first resource note. This is especially true in that using Logos we are skipping between many resources and not reading

  • Re: Is this an error in the Hebrew language database?

Thank you for the reply, but I was wondering why a word study on שׁוב used examples (noted above) for the lemma, ישׁב. I can understand how one could be read in Psalm 23:6, but am perplexed as to why it is mixed this way in the database. Thanks, though, for the Goldingay reference.

  • Is this an error in the Hebrew language database?

I was looking at Psalm 23:6. The last line is, וְשַׁבְתִּ֥י בְּבֵית־יְ֝הוָ֗ה לְאֹ֣רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃ [Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: With Westminster Hebrew Morphology., electronic ed. (Stuttgart; Glenside PA: German Bible Society; Westminster Seminary, 1996), Ps 23:6.] Logos tags וְשַׁבְתִּ֥י "and I shall dwell" as being of the root, שׁוב, "to return"

  • A question about morphological tagging

I was doing a search in 2 Corinthians for imperatives. I already created a visual filter that identifies imperatives in the NA28 when they appear in the ESV. I notice that in 2 Cor 5:17, the ESV is red and identifies as ἰδού, behold, and in the ESV shows that it is an interjection, verb, aorist active 2 pers. sing. In the NA28, it is identified

  • Re: "Most Recent Notebook" option missing.

It does help a lot. I thought I was missing something. "Most Recent" would be a good third option, but I can live without it. I'll probably use "no notebook" until I get used to things. I don't know what it would be involved, but if a tiny, bright red "8" could pop up over menu items that have changed, it would be really nice. I find it hard to get
