  • Re: Exegetical Guide question

I found the same problem, until I prioritized GMSD. I also saw that if the definition is not in GMSDT (for example, "finite verb,"), it opens the definition in Lexham SGNT, a resource I do NOT have prioritized.

I find it slow to load too, but is amazingly fast when one considers the search capabilities. In March, my Logos 4 started loading so slowly that it was taking 15-20 minutes to load, so I knew something was up. It turned out to be another software program that I wasn't using, hadn't used for awhile, and I only found out by accident. I tried to use my

  • Re: Word Group Searching

It does if i only search for the first few letters of a word, seeking the letters that are in common in all grammatical forms, such as δικ- for the δικαιοσύνη word group, but that might also collect some false positive hits, and it will miss ἔνδικος, ἄδικος, ἀδικία, κτλ.

  • Word Group Searching

I find Logos great. Thank you for the excellence that this program is. I have a question that might turn into a suggestion. When doing Greek or Hebrew word studies, I often find myself search for a Word Group, not simply a lemma as defined by noun, verb, adjective, etc. Is there a quick way to search for a Word Group that includes all grammatical ranges

  • A Search Result Question

I was wondering if, when searching a lemma, if it is possible to subtotal the number of hits based upon a preset set of books. I know I can set a search range, such as Gospels, or Pauline books, but is it possible to do a search and have it categorised based upon authorship such as: Luke (includes Luke & Acts) Peter John (Gospel, Letters, Revelation

Just did that and the disc checks out. I'll keep checking. The Logos problem is the only computer problem I have--everything else seems ok.

Same problem this morning, but this time an error log was generated. I've attached them if anyone can help. 10 minutes to load, with one book open. 7870.Logos4.log 4747.Logos4Error.log

  • Re: Logos 4 Crashing

I had a similar problem, and it was because the printer I had chosen was not connected to my computer. This seems odd, since I too only wanted to export for the purposes of creating a pdf file. If you hit ctrl-p and the printer is not connected, things will crash. At my study, I have a USB plug in printer; at home I have a wireless network printer.

  • Re: Logos 4.5 very slow to load.

Thanks for the advice--I just restarted (after a boot) and it took 7 minutes. There is one book open, and I opened to a layout, not the homepage. As to the timestamps, I had the program loaded, closed (hibernated) the machine, then reopened.

  • Logos 4.5 very slow to load.

Lately, my Logos 4.5 takes about 20 minutes to load. I rebuilt the index, and made sure that all the books are closed on exit. It still takes a very long time to load. Windows 7 64 bit professional; 8 g RAM, 50 G disk space available. I've attached my log files. 58818.Logos4.log

  • Re: Lexham Hebrew word duplication in Text flow diagram

Thanks for getting back to me on this. In a related matter, I noticed that the 4.2 and WIVU separate prefixes from the words to which they should be attached. In October 2010 there was a discussion thread about this, but I don't see any resolution. Has that been fixed/resolved? Thanks again.

  • Lexham Hebrew word duplication in Text flow diagram

I've stumbled across this problem. I am setting up a Text Flow Diagram of Exodus 2:23-25. As you can see from the screenshot, I end up with two of the first word, three of the second, then two of the third, fourth, and fifth. This continues throughout the text. This is using the Lexham Hebrew text. My 4.2 & WIVU don't do this, but do other strange things

  • Re: Logos 4 Crashes on Print and Export

Well, I changed my default printer in Windows to OneNote, and all works fine. Once I'm in the export/print window, I can change printers and nothing crashes. So far so good.

  • Logos 4 Crashes on Print and Export

Description When I choose ctrl-p OR click a tab to export/print, I see a blank screen and then the Windows 7 error message with an option to send info to Microsoft or Close. Either way the program shuts down. Steps to reproduce Load logos 4 click any resource tab choose "Print/Export" (OR, ctrl-p) Actual Result screen goes blank to default Logos colour

I've also noticed that this has happened before with my NA27. I believe I'll be using this fix again. Thanks all.

That did it! Thank you very much. On a related matter, am I correct then, that BHS 4.0 does NOT support sympathetic highlighting?

This is a pretty good example. Notice there are no hits. This works for any words. Scott

  • BHS 4.2 Lemma searching not working

This was happening for some time now, but I have been using 4.0 for lemma searches. The problem is, 4.0 doesn't support sympathetic highlighting, so I want to use 4.2. When I right-click a word, I can choose lemma, but when I click "Search this resource," I get nothing. If I choose, "search all open resources," the BHS 4.2 search is run, but I get far

  • Re: Slow Logos 4

Just a simple suggestion for speed, especially for laptops, is to never, ever, leave a disk in the cd/dvd drive when you're not using it. It's easy to forget one in there, and it will slow your system down considerable even when it is not loading on auto-run. Scott
