• How do you launch a book by using just its file name?

In Logos 3 we can enter the file name of a Logos book in the "Quick Navigate" field and the book opens up (the file extension cannot be used, just the file name without the file extension). I tried to do the same in Logos 4 via the Command bar, but this does not seem to work, even after trying several different methods, such as including the file extension

Hi, Dave. What I meant is that I have two differnt local Windows XP account IDs. My Logos account is just one account, and is used for both PCs. To give status, I am now in the "stage 2" of the 3-stage "preparing your library" process. It took about 3.5 hours to complete stage 1, so I do hope that stages 2 and 3 complete fairly soon. I checked and the

Dave, thanks for your reply. I did carefully follow the procedure to avoid deleting the random folder name. Below is my updated/enhanced version of the "Method1" procedure from what is currently on the Wiki ( http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers ), to more clearly outline the necessary steps, and give a few more helpful explanations
Every user on every machine has a different "random" directory name... you just copy its contents into the corresponding directory.
Peter, thank you, I figured that. As to my Logos4Indexer.log file, I did upload my earlier log file via this forum, but couldn't tell whether you were able to access it or not. Back
Did you see in the wiki, under method 1 where it says:
* if you get a message that resources cannot be found delete ResourceManager.db from Logos4\Data\{random}\ResourceManager folder and restart L4.
Rebuilding the resource manager database takes a while but nothing like indexing... it depends on the size

  • Re: BHS 4.2 read aloud

Hi, Rosie. I posted this question as a new thread for two reasons: (1) to get an official answer from Logos (i.e., if it will not be coming out on 3.0, then the pre-pub web page ought to be updated to state that in order to prevent any confusion and not discourage any Logos 4 user from placing orders), and (2) to generate some awareness about this product

Rosie, I'd like to hear from Logos (rather than our own speculation), which is why I asked the question here. Plus I'd like to generate a little awareness about this pre-pub for new customers whom may be unaware. When Bob responded last summer, that was prior to the release of Logos 4 (when Logos 3.0 was the only platform). Now we have Logos 4, but

Place your pre-pub orders for the 6-volume set from Canon Press ( http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/4576 ), as this volume (which I have in print) is excellent: Creation in Six Days: A Defense of the Traditional Reading of Genesis One Author: James B. • Will the Hebrew Pronunciation Addin release to customers first for Logos 3.0 or Logos 4?

There is a Hebrew pronunciation add-in under development for Logos 3.0 according to the web link below. Should customers expect this product to instead release for Logos 4.0, or still release first on the 3.0 platform? http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/3349

Peter, I see part of the problem now when looking through the attached log file. For example, the error: "ResourceManager Resource of type ClauseVisualizer could not be found at location C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\...." (in the Logos4Indexer.log file) thinks my local computer ID is "Owner", which it is

  • Is there a way to avoid a requirement to re-indexing when following the "Quick Install for Multiple Computers"?

I understand from http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers that there is a way to avoid downloading all the resources when setting up Logos 4 on a second computer. However, is it also posible to avoid the "Indexing" process? I followed Dave Hooton's "Method 1" in the above procedure, thinking I would not have to re-index. But

Barclay's Daily Study Bible series for both the Old Testament and New Testament is included in the older version 2.1 of Logos Series X Scholars' Silver library. Although we understand that Logos no longer sells its "boxed" Library collections through retailers, perhaps there are some Christian bookstores that might still have a copy of this older version

I'd say, "don't judge a book by its cover" on this one. The Logos write-up on this seems to indicate more of a scholarly approach -- a very in-depth and thorough analysis of the usage of numbers in the Bible. It's over 3,800 pages and published in 1902: http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/4116
