• Re: Tagging error in 1 Timothy 2:5?

I see. The search parameters make the results look skewed since the entire "referred to as" expression is not highlighted, but only the intersecting lemma.

  • Re: Tagging error in 1 Timothy 2:5?

Hi Graham, The referent data sometimes has multiple references within an expression, so in the right-click menu you only see the one word annotated instead of the whole expression. In this verse there is a higher level reference to Jesus as the one mediator, and then within that is a reference to God. Below is a screen shot of an inline referent search

  • Re: 希伯來文 聖經 第三部份 Ketuvim The Writings 書卷排法 ?

Hi Jimmy, The Leningrad Codex is the preferred order, as it best represents the Massoretic scribal tradition. I would suggest doing some reading on the history of the the canonization of the bible, as things were a lot more fluid quite a bit later than most of us assume. Referencing the Wikipedia article without looking more closely at the specific

  • Re: Search propositional outlines?

If you have the Propositional Outlines open you can use CTRL F or CMND F to search for the next instance. The main search engine only searches the Bible text, or the data underlying it on the word number (like morph and lemma). This is why the propositional labels behave differently than the main text, I believe. It was not engineered to be searched

  • Re: Biblical people Search tool

Hi Freddie, The search option you are looking for in under the "Bible" tab of the search window. If you look toward the bottom of the screen shot you'll see the Factbook Items. People, Places and Things now all live in Factbook with a host of other things. You can also find references to David by going to Tools | Factbook | and then typing in David
I think the routine was you were charged if you chose to take what was completed last year. If you chose to wait, you were not charged and you still should have the open PrePub in your Orders page. I do.
David is correct, and we indeed need to update the product page. So far Genesis-Jeremiah have shipped and are available

Bump The plan is still the same, on a task list awaiting attention. When the data is updated, it will get released in a subsequent update.

Hi Adam, Thanks for the comments, they were just brought to my attention or I would have responded earlier. Unfortunately, your review on the LDGNT product page cuts off the critique part of your comments. At any rate, here is some background. You mentioned Levinsohn's enhanced BART displays, which are excellent. Those come about from Stephen doing

  • Re: HDNT?

Hi Denise, The idea of the HDOT being a different animal is not a bad analogy, but not because of edits over the centuries or a different application of discourse devices. David is correct in saying that Koine Greek is not Biblical Hebrew, but one also needs to take into account the differing nature of the content itself. The narrative stories of the

  • Re: Three day Steven Runge Greek Discourse workshop in the UK - just £30!

Most of these trips originate from a school inviting me to come as a visiting professor. I have few connections down under, but would be very interested in looking into it. In the mean time, there is a DVD covering the same content, overviewing the Discourse Grammar. I'll post back here on the forums if anything comes up.

Hi, Regarding the WEST workshop, it will be part lecture and part extemporaneous exposition through Philippians and some passages from Luke. There should be a schedule available from WEST. The workshop in November is a "come and see" event for those interested in discourse studies, but without any background. It is Friday afternoon, Nov. 22. The room

I am really looking forward to this as well. We will be offering an afternoon workshop the last day of ETS in Baltimore November 22, and then I'll be teaching through the whole discourse grammar workshop at SBTS in January 2014. There might the be option to add something in conjunction with the national Camp Logos next year, but it would really depend

  • Re: Couple of tagging questions - θεος in Romans 9:5 and 1 John 5:20

Hi Graham, The identifier "God" is used when there is a general reference to the Trinity rather than to one member of it, like the Father, Son or Spirit. Something is being claimed about Jesus here, that he is God, part of the Godhead. This is why God was used for God instead of Jesus. If you did a clause search to find all the things predicated about

  • Re: BUG: Missing Person Tag in Matthew 27:9

Thanks for pointing this out, Tommy. There is not a pronoun there in Greek, it is an artifact of the translation. It is actually a participle describing the one on whom the price had been set, i.e. the potter. I have added this to the data, and it will be released with the next update of this dataset.

Any needed changes made to the data will be released in the next build

Hey there, I passed on the request; the problem was discovered and should be resolved now. If there is an update, please download it and let me know if the problem persists. Something happened in the metadata, but it has now been fixed. Kudos to Toby and Hayley in ETD for fixing the metadata, and to you folks for pointing out the problem.

I love the Logos 5 tagging of Biblical Facts "Person" that enabled us to do the very valuable clause search. I spent a couple of days over the end of the year counting angels in Revelation :-) Hopefully Steve Runge would find this useful ... and Thanks to Steve Runge
