  • Re: Most used Bible version

ESV - love it and we use it in worship RSV - grew up with it and most of my memory verses are here, I also think it is the most beautiful. NASB - not so much anymore with the original language help in Logos, it was my "literal" translation MSG - I consider this a commentary more than anything else, but I greatly appreciate it. NLT - just to get another

  • Re: Pricing so high on public domain resources?

Here is why I think the pricing is not too high. Having just received Catena Aurea, which is public domain, I am happy to pay more money for the privilege of having the entire thing linked to my Bible, and beyond that, linked to patristic resources I own. So when I see a quote that Aquinas has put in, say from Augustine or Chrysostom, I also see if

  • Re: Aquinas' Catena Aurea

Just another word to say about this awesome resource, and how well Logos tagged it so that I can go to the original if I have it and want to and see the full context. Really great work Logos. Amazing to see how easy it is to do serious research with this tool.

I hope both of you are right. That was a sweet sale in 2009 and nice library builder. How about it Logos?

When I use ctrl p, I don't get the bottom options you have, including, "send to new document/microsoft word" How can I get that in mine? I have logos 4 latest (not beta) and word 2007 on one computer and 2010 on the other. thanks-- Mike

  • Re: New Mobile Survey -- BlackBerry and Android users, speak out!

Being able to read logos books on my android and my kindle would definitely make me buy more books from logos. You are right about the Amazon books. I can read them on either laptop, the kindle, or the android phone. Great idea. Just a simple reader that we can download books to. Thanks

  • Re: Anyone using an SSD to Run Logos 4 on a Windows Platform?

I see your point Brian, and it's a good one. I actually had a second bible study program for quick word searches and lookups just because of that slowness for a simple task. Now it seems I just leave logos up and running. But I agree with your point when you're just trying to find a bible passage, L4 is a bit cumbersome to open up.

Ok, just a word here. I was so worried about my new laptop's ability to run logos 4 before it arrived after getting caught up in the race for speed that I tried to cancel the order (unsuccessfully). When the laptop got here (lenovo x201) I just couldn't help trying it out, even though I thought I'd probably be sending it back. Now when I see the actual

  • Re: Anyone running L4 on a thinkpad x201?

I have to chime in that in the few days I've had it, I love logos 4 on the x201. Go anywhere, and plenty enough real estate for me, though I usually operate 3 or 4 open windows at a time.

Oh my is this x201 awesome. Really amazing. After 15 years of Dells, I didn't know what I was missing. Don't get me wrong, I loved my dells, they make a fine product. But this small form and power and long battery life are truly amazing. Logos 4 just hums right along on it, exactly as fast as any computer I've used it on. You're right Bob. This machine

  • Thank You Logos!

How's this for an afternoon. Receive a new laptop in the morning. Set up a few microsoft programs and hassle through the wireless connection fight. Then find the logos 4 engine (the hardest part), download it, sign in, and it automatically goes to Logos and starts downloading my 2000+ resources. Go golfing. Come back from golf and check the laptop and

  • Anyone running L4 on a thinkpad x201?

I ordered an x201 because I wanted the smaller screen that I used to love on my Dell m1210. Then I panicked when I saw the system requirements include dedicated graphic cards and cancelled the order, determined to buy a t410s. The x201 shipped before it could cancel and will be arriving Thursday. My dilemma is I really want the smaller footprint, but

  • Re: More RAM or SSD?

Well this is a fine kettle of fish. My thinkpad x201 which I ordered last wed and cancelled on thursday because of a concern about integrated graphics with logos4 shipped. Now instead of wondering about whether to get ssd or hd on the replacement, I have to decide if the integrated graphics are going to be too big of a bottleneck and whether to replace

  • More RAM or SSD?

Which would make logos run better, 8gigs of RAM and 500 gig hd at 7200 or 4 gigs of RAM and SSD (128)? Upgrading computer and thinking of going for SSD even though it's only 128 because this machine will be primarily a logos 4 machine and that's plenty of space it seems to me. thoughts appreciated
