• Re: Missing "edit box" text

Well, I created a new Bible slide. I typed Psalm 103:1-12 into the reference box. I pressed enter, and voila - when the text appears, words are blanked out. I've also pasted text into the edit box, and words are blank. I've also typed a few lines, and words are blank. I've also copied from Logos and pasted in, and words are blank. This also happens

  • Missing "edit box" text

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I've attached a picture below. See if you can figure out my problem: See the long blank after "O my soul," and "compassion;"? That's the problem. I let Proclaim enter the text on its own from my Logos installation. Text is also missing when I select "Fully formatted," although what's missing is a little different

  • Sermon slides

I'm a very new Proclaim user. I've been using Keynote for sermon slides for a long time. I understand that Proclaim is not going to give the kind of flexibility that Keynote does. That being said, I've figured out that I can create new slides with a double-dash. But I don't see any way to edit specific lines of text. The text formatting applies to the
I found a workaround on my system for missing words in Program Settings.
I thank you as well - this was really frustrating. I also found that choosing the fonts listed in About Logos Software under the Logos menu tends to clear up the problem. I didn't try ALL of the fonts listed there, but I tried a few, and had no problems
Incidentally, I also upgraded my Macbook to 10.10 Yosemite, and it works like a charm - no problem there!
Hi Michael, When I upgraded to 10.10 Logos was missing words in almost every open resource. Here's the NASB. Would you check to see if this is happening on your system and report back? I'm running Logos 5.2b

Well, Wyeth and Robinson did their part. But the hacked revised lyric is mine. Feel free to add it to your church's hymnody!

No, it was doing it before. Turned out to be the Smart Text Selection feature in the Settings. Thanks!

Sung to the tune of "Come Thou Fount" Come thou fount of every resource I am out of things to say Streams of wisdom at my fingers What a gift to copy-paste! While it's true that I'm no Spurgeon My church thinks that I'm on top I may copy vintage sermons – It's not wrong if you're not caught

  • Verse copy selection bug (or feature?)

I'm using Logos 5.2a on a Mac, running Mavericks (10.9.2). I've only used Logos for a few weeks, so it's certainly possible that I'm missing something obvious. I want to copy Matthew 20:20-21, so I click in verse 21 and drag up into verse 20. Both verses are then completely highlighted. BUT, so is the verse number for verse 22, and the Copy Bible Verses
Because of the language requirements that Logos has (Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic,etc...), the free text editors simply cannot handle this complexity
Yes, I understand that (Job 42:6). Thanks for the reality check!

That's too bad. I'm no programmer, but it seems that text editing has got to be one of the easier things to do. I mean, there are FREE text editors out there; it's clearly not one of the computer "black arts." Maybe you can tell me this, would Logos allow a true link to a text file? That is, is there a way to create a link in a note to a text file that
My experience with notes in both Logos and Accordance is that neither one is adequate for this purpose.
I understand what you're saying. Notes in Accordance never quite did it for me. It's nice to see my own notes tracking along as I work through a text, which is why I want to use the Notes in Logos as at the preliminary

  • Formatting problem within Notes

I'm a new Logos user after many years using Accordance. Actually, I'm still using Accordance, since it's much snappier when it comes to original language study. Anyway, on to my issue. I've begun using the Notes feature in Logos in preliminary sermon prep. Since there doesn't seem to be a way to set paragraph spacing in Notes, I decided to simply use
