• Re: Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew...

I received my copy of "Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos Bible Software". I bought it as pre-pub since it was so deeply discounted and seemingly so popular. Having watched the videos, I can say that they are very well done...however, my Greek & Hebrew from seminary is apparently better than I had thought and I'd much rather use the limited

There is no need to transfer license. They are stand-alone DVD's that play in any DVD equipped computer. I appreciate the advise about Logos 30-day policy. That's a good option. Even so, if anyone missed out and is still interested, I'd love to pass them on to someone who could really use them. It is a fantastic resource that I wished I had along with

  • Re: AGES Calvin Commentary Upgrade

Well, it worked! The "Rebuild Index" command took all afternoon and into the evening, then I shut down L4 and reopened it...and the newly updated Calvin Commentaries started downloading. Now, back to indexing for the night...but hey, I got them! I don't see the mysterious Daniel commentary but as I recall there was some probelms with that, right?

The count of 18 does NOT include the HAROUTUNIAN volume...just FYI.
Loyd, how do you get files from the ftp site?
I pulled them from the e-mail I got from Logos about the Calvin 500 Upgrade being ready for download. The e-mail is below: Logos Bible Software 1313 Commercial Street Bellingham, WA 98225-4307 1-800-875-6467 This is to inform you that your recent Pre-Pub order of Calvin

I sure hope they do make this right on Monday. I just got my upgrade tonight and it looks like I got everyhing EXCEPT the Commentary upgrade. I do have the previous version of the AGES commentaries...but nothing as far as those newly revised upgrades I was expecting. Bummer!

  • Why would someone chose for or against using the beta version of L4 (windows)?

I'll be the first to admit that I am a novice at best when it comes to understaning the ins and outs of beta versions of any program. I see on many threads reference to downloading beta (something I don't even know how to do). Some talk about beta capabilities with great satisfacation where as some see the word beta as just another 4-letter word to
Oh, I also never join a beta program on a Friday, since my weekends are when I spend the most time in Logos.
That is wisdom if I've ever heard it. I don't know what Sunday would be like without Logos on Friday. Wow, I guess I'm offically an addict! So, you can put the beta on one computer but not on the other?

Thanks Steve. I sure hope some official word comes down someday soon. This has been very frustrating.

  • Personal Book Builder & Sermon File Addin

So I've combed through enough of these threads to know better than to ask about the status of the Sermon File Addin for Logos 4. But I'm wondering if someone on the inside at Logos could answer this: If I go through the effort of integrating my sermons using PBB, will I regret spending days (maybe weeks) doing that later when this new web interface

  • Re: The Preacher's Commentary inquiry...

PC is certainly more in the devotional-application commentary list. If you are looking for exegetical or critical commentaries, look elsewhere. For me, after I've done the deep study of the text, and if I'm still needing inspiration for application hooks, PC is one I go to often.

  • Re: Gift Card or Credit

Great question...and my attempt to answer may not be the official word, but I'd suggest calling Logos. I know they have been able to apply credit on people's accounts through referral programs and promotions. I do not believe they have a "gift card" per se, but if the person you are wishing to gift some money for Logos already has an account with Logos

  • Re: I want to upgrade but...

If you have the discipline to open a saving account for education expenses, try that for awhile. Feed it as you are able. That's how I've funded expenses like this. Dave Ramsey's class, Financial Peace University would say to create a Logos envelope. Seriously, it works.

Do you who own Hermeneia find it to be a valuable resource? The customize price looks great but I don't know much about it. Since many of you seem to already own it, what can you say about it?

  • Re: L5 Upgrade Experience - From L4 Bible Study Base Package

Helpful post. Even a smaller base package will leave folks with more resources than it really costs them. I upgraded yesterday and am delighted so far. I can't work for free and I don't expect Logos to either. They provide essential tools that help me more than I can fully even appreciate. I've never been disappointed with the new features in updates

  • Re: Bewildered seminarian paying on Silver 4.0

Per one of the earlier posts, the second phase will be a minimal cross grade (Bob said likely in the neighborhood of $100) and the third phase a free L5 engine only. So you're not at any loss with L4 right now. But I agree with Mark...and wish I had the wisdom while in seminary to LOAD UP as much as I could on resources with the academic discount. I
Anybody read Surprised by Hope? It's been on a "maybe someday" list for me since I heard about it.
Surprised By Hope is a fantastic book. I used it along with Acorn's book, Heaven for a sermon series I did on the subject of heaven and eternity.
