• Fastest way to link sets

What's the fastest way to link a set of resources I have open? I know how to do it manually, of course. But what I'm looking for is a shortcut key to quickly assign a resource to A, B, etc. Thanks!

  • Re: Word count in Logos books

Thanks all. Just to clarify, there is no way to do a wordcount on a book that is not morphologically tagged, correct? It would be interesting to know how many words Codex Sinaiticus has, for example. Or even to compare Sinaiticus and Bezae in Acts.

I'm on Windows 7 (64 bit) with 4GB RAM, an Intel i7 quad processor and a dedicated graphics card. I should be okay, yeah?

I didn't know I could upgrade the engine only. Is this advisable?

  • Word count in Logos books

Hi all, Is there any way to get a word count for a book in Logos? I'd like to know how many words are in the NA27, for example. The only way I know how to do it now is by copying and pasting into MS Word, but that's very slow and laborious. This is in Logos 4, by the way. Thanks! Peter

  • Re: Codex Sinaiticus electronic text

I see. But it would still be searchable, right?

  • Re: Codex Sinaiticus electronic text

Not to mention the ease of comparison within Sinaiticus itself. Could it also be grammatically tagged, Rick? I would think there would be some interesting searches that could be done across the whole manuscript as well.

  • Re: Codex Sinaiticus electronic text

I wondered about that too, Rick. To me it sounds like you just can't sell the text, not that a commercial business can't give it away. But I see where you would want to be sure. Thanks for keeping track of this!

  • Codex Sinaiticus electronic text

The Codex Sinaiticus has recently released an electronic version of the text of Codex Sinaiticus. What are the chances that this could be made into an electronic resource for Logos?

  • Re: Strip accents when copying Greek
Wonder about using a Greek resource that does not have accents and breathing marks ?
That's what I finally did. I didn't really want to use the Textus Receptus but my version of Westcott & Hort has accents and breathing marks. Oh well.

Hi folks, Is there any way to strip accents and breathing marks from Greek text in Logos? Peter

  • Re: Medial Syriac nuns not displaying properly

Thanks, Mark. I just stumbled on the same thread myself. I'm glad to see others have raised the problem. I suppose Microsoft Word 2010 is running on .NET 4.0 and that's why things look correct when I paste them there?

  • Medial Syriac nuns not displaying properly

I've had this problem ever since 4.0 and it hasn't been fixed yet, so I thought I should probably say something. Medial nuns do not appear correctly in Syriac words that have vowel pointing (see image). This can make it tough to read because what looks like two words is actually one. The same font in Microsoft Word renders the medial nun properly when

  • Preserving different font sizes in text comparison across multiple layouts

Is there a way to maintain different font sizes in the text comparison tool across multiple layouts? I have a layout I use for Syriac work that requires much bigger fonts than my Greek layout. Unfortunately, when I shrink the font size in the text comparison window in the Greek layout, it shrinks it when I switch to the Syriac layout. So I'm stuck resizing

  • Re: Search for "666" returns nothing

Okay, clarification. Searching for "666" doesn't work in NRSV because it's spelled out as "six hundred, sixty-six." However, the NET has "666" and the search works just fine. So it appears to be an ESV bug. Another ESV oddity: searching for "144,000" and "12,000" also return no results.

  • Search for "666" returns nothing

This may be an obvious problem in my search technique, but a search for "666" in the ESV with a range of Hebrews-Revelation returns nothing. Anyone know why this would be? I also tried the NRSV and got nothing. Both versions have "666" in Rev 13:18 (as opposed to, say, "six, six, six") which I also tried to no avail).

  • Adding a dictionary to the Lemma section of the Bible Word Study Guide

Quick problem here, folks. I just made the happy discovery that my Logos package came with Liddell & Scott's Intermediate Greek-English lexicon (a.k.a., Middle-Liddell). So now I would be even happier if it would show up in the list of dictionaries when I run a Bible Word Study. Anybody know how to do this? I tried editing the Word Study Guide template

  • Vocab Lists

Is there a way in Logos 4 to create vocab lists of frequent words in a particular corpus. E.g., can I create a list of the 50 most common words occurring in the Greek NT? Peshitta? Hebrew OT? etc. I thought I saw somewhere that this is coming at some point in Logos 4. Anyone know when?

  • Improved morph search in 4.0d – How so?

Anybody know details on the improved morph search in 4.0d? I couldn't find any specific details on any of the release notes ( beta or otherwise ) except that there are additional search fields. Can we finally do case agreement in morph searches? And can we search across verses (say, if a verb is in v. 4 but the DO is in v. 5)? Thanks!
