  • Advanced Search Q&A

Greetings, Every once in a while I'm looking for the occasional help with an advanced search, and I'm not sure where to turn. Currently I'm interested in searching every instance where the emotion "Anger" is attributed to God. Thank you

  • Re: Maximizing search potential

In the Logos 6 video for Literary Typing , we see them using a search query which looks like this: In my opinion, there's some pretty sophisticated stuff going on here. My question is, where does one even go to learn 1. A comprehensive explanation of what the search options even are? (This kind of stuff isn't spelled out in any wiki or training video

  • Quick Question: How to slide reading columns instead of page turn?

Right now I am reading Ezk 40 and wanted to check out what the ESV Study Bible had. It turns out there is a nice little map of the temple which has number and letter keynotes which are listed on a legend above. I would like to see the legend and the map on the same screen at the same time, in 2 columns, but as soon as I switch my reading mode to columns

Yes, I just noticed that video and contacted R&H. They said it is slated for the print copy in January or February. So far no plans for Logos though, so yes, it would be great if that conversation could begin on this side! Thank you Martin!

  • Re: Consensus "beef up notes"

I would like to see a way to "tag" notes. I have come up with my own layered tagging system, to topically "tag" the Bible as I read through, and essentially keep all my notes in one giant file (Example: T: Jews: Festivals: Original: Passover - this would allow me to quickly search for passages regarding the Jews (search for "T: Jews") or to get more

  • Re: SUGG: Need better ways to organize L4 items on the File | Open menu

What if the list of file types wasn't only there to "Create New" files, but actually served as a list of folders, which (when hovered over) would reveal files of that type? Example:

I'm totally behind this forum, :o) and I'm sorry if I'm repeating something, but I just have a quick thought: --- I WANT NOTING MY LOGOS BIBLE TO FEEL LIKE NOTING MY PAPER BIBLE! :) --- What do I mean by that? I mean, when I make a note in my paper Bible, I feel like the note is right THERE...next to the passage to which it pertains. When I make a note

  • Re: Perseus

So when you "receive" one of the collections... does your logos prompt you to go download something somewhere, or does it just automatically do one of its updates and when it's done you have a bigger library?

  • Re: Can we beef up notes please?

I call for note reform! I dream of a day when Logos note organization functions like gmail labels! I don't use notes much, because I feel like they're clunky and disconnected, and sometimes I just want to make a generic note on the page that I'm looking at (like I would on a page in my Bible) without me feeling like it has to fit into a "category" and

  • Re: Android, Please!?!?!?!?

My analysis is that it's only logical...iphone has less than 30% of the smartphone market right now, and android is quickly up and coming and threatening to become a major contender. Google is making deals (adobe) and developing innovative products (google goggles, and google speach engines) that are going to be pushing the market and attracting customers

Thank you David, Very insightful. So was there a version of the Septuagint circulated amongst common Jews in Christ's time? If so, is there any indication of what they used?

  • Re: Göttingen Septuagint (65 Vols.)

Thank you Kevin, May I ask if the original Septuagint manuscripts are at all comparable to the NT Greek manuscripts (I.E, from my understanding, they can be categorized in 3 basic ways: 1) the Textus Receptus, 2) The "Alexandrian" manuscripts, and 3) the Latin Vulgate)? Excluding the Vulgate, I'm wondering if the the Manuscripts of the Septuagint are

I'm sure this will be a ridiculous question to many in the forum, but I'm a young student of the Bible, teaching myself everything as I go, and I'm interested in adding a Septuagint to my Logos library but can someone explain to me the difference between these two Septuagint options? 1. http://www.logos.com/ebooks/details/LLXXI - or - 2. http://www

  • Re: Logos 4.0c Slow

I've noticed a lot of general slowness since installing 4.0c. I guess one of the major specific things I can point to is opening up my layouts. What once took about 5-10 second seems to now take about 20s-mins, or it just freezes and I have to restart the program...

  • Thoughts and Feelings on 4.0b release

I'm very grateful to have chosen a company that's dedicated to providing services such as valuable updates and helpful videos! Thank you Logos team for all your hard work and effort and for creating an a powerful and useful product that's a blessing as well! Sadly the update didn't include the feature I want the most, which is to be able to collapse

  • Re: Suggestion: Improve Maps

I agree, with you. Good observation. How cool would it be if there was also an option to specify the time period in history - Say I wanted to research Syria around 300BC, I could type in (or choose) 300BC and my searches would reflect that time period!
