pk47, if you liked this perspective, you should check out Unveiling Empire by Anthony Gwyther and Wes Howard-Brook. Great read.
To the contrary... the everyday meaning of the word is quite innocent, despite its historical roots. To point out the later should rather be discouraged.
This is fair. However, I wouldn't have said anything had I not experienced a correction from a handful of offended people after using the word in a sermon. Oops

We hit a little snafu and will get it resolved as soon as we can. Thanks for the report, and for your patience. And don't worry - the contents of your wishlist have not been affected. I generally don't mind the idea of Community Pricing and Pre-Pub, but this tends to frustrate me. I have a few unfinished commentary sets, and I have to quotation whether I'll be able to but them through Logos. Dan, you and I both posted song for support for the New Beacon volumes a while back. I feel that if Logos is going to publish certain volumes

Where would be the appropriate place to request a feature for the forums? The ability to hide regularly rude customers would make the forum experience much nicer.
What is frustrating to me is that it can be done. Given that it is interpretation, reading the Old Testament as foreshadowing through the lens of the New Testament, I see it as a place Faithlife is telling me how to read the text rather than simply presenting me with the text. Were I Jewish or non-Trinitarian, I would not be

The complexity of these searches is increasingly frustrating to me. Yes, the software is powerful... But the power is lost in the bulk of users (like me) who will never learn the syntax. I *really* hope the request for a search builder tool is being heard.

  • Integrate web app indexing into the desktop application

A frequent complaint about Logos is search speed. The speed of the web app, which I presume utilizes indexing from Faithlife servers, is much faster. I would love to see offline local indexing become a backup feature, with the desktop software utilizing the much faster web indexing whenever the computer is internet-connected. Personal books can rely
The Desktop app will continue to use local indexing (except for a some specialised searches like Morph Query and Bible Browser, which also require a subscription). This already happens with the online app. Using the app's online indexing on our desktop installations would speed up Logos quite a lot, anyway.

  • Re: Would FL....?

This would be a great secondary benefit of utilizing Faithlife's servers for indexing for all internet-connected Logos decides, while preserving offline indexing as a backup for non-internet connected devices and personal book libraries. That would boost the speed of Logos searches substantially.

I'm going to guess on the release date - either July 23 or 30. The last two releases have been in a Monday, which makes sense. I'm guessing a bit earlier this time than last time since effort went into defending an "approximate" two year schedule. Any other guesses?
