  • Re: How do you write articles?

Well, not even as formal as a journal article but say a pastor wants to write a daily article in their church bulletin or on their website. Obviously he/she could go the route of using a word processing application so I'm wondering if there is any advantage to using logos and, if so, how it would be used.

  • How do you write articles?

For those who write articles, I am interested in seeing what methods are used. For example i could use the sermon editor to draft daily devotionals but id's that the best way? Is there a simpler method inside logos? Or do you use something outside of logos like MS Word or scrivener? Thoughts?

Thanks Ken. I just tried that one earlier today and it worked very well.

  • Re: Segregating a portion of the theology tree in the LST

Thanks Fred. I was hoping there was some cool technique within Logos but there's nothing like good ole fashioned cutting/pasting.

  • Segregating a portion of the theology tree in the LST

Hi, does anyone know of a way to segregate a portion of the tree in the LST? For example, I would like to just have the entire portion that refers to "The work and person of Jesus Christ" so that I can use it as a visual aid when teaching. Thoughts?

  • Re: Free Grace Theology

Incredibly timely thread since I'm working through a teaching on this topic w/ my church right now. My question is, do any of the above resources list the main scriptures used to argue against free grace and counter-arguments all in on place (versus searching book by book as in the Grace NTC)?

  • Workflow vs. Notes

So I am testing out the Workflow tool for this week's sermon and following along with all of the instructions. However, as I'm working through each step and adding notes to the step, I starting to wonder about the process and when/where does this tool work w/ notes? In other words, if I'm adding notes into the Workflow, it doesn't seem to make sense

Karl, I love your post! I too have been wondering just how in the world to use the new version of notes but your post helps me conceptualize it nicely.

Cancel the post. In my exuberance, I didn't wait for indexing to complete so I now have the guide.

  • Theology Guide Not Showing?

Hi, I just downloaded the L8 upgrade which should have included the Theology Guide but its not showing up in the guide section. Thoughts?

  • Re: Searching on the topic of "Knowing one another in heaven?"

Dave, Good idea and thanks. Every once in awhile, I find it enjoyable to come across a topic or area that I have absolutely zero clue on how to research within Logos but it's then that I can reach out to all of you for a quick assist! Thanks again.

  • Searching on the topic of "Knowing one another in heaven?"

I asked a question last Sunday to my congregation as to whether we would know each other in heaven. To my surprise, a few people said, "no we will not" and so, not having much time, I quickly walked them through a number of passages referring to the topic such as David stating he will go to be with his son in 2 Samuel, Moses and Elijah appearing on

  • Re: When Men / Women Question God

Thanks for the responses. I will try out the queries later this evening. The impetus for the question is that I have a member who is determined to believe that questioning God shows a lack of faith. I know many of us in the forums occasionally hold to differing opinions but my study reveals that there is nothing wrong with asking God questions but its

  • When Men / Women Question God

In the Bible there are several occasions when someone questioned God before carrying out the assignment placed on them (i.e Gideon, David, Moses, Ananias,etc... ). Is there any kind of search that could be done to find out all of these instances?

  • Re: Mind Map Users?..

Michael, I totally agree about pricing in TheBrain. I owned an old version from years back that I got on discount through my job and still use that version. I have not and will not upgrade or move to a subscription based plan. Having said that, I still think it is the best tool in this space simply because it does not use a central node. About 10 years

MJ, Here Here for TheBrain! I have been using it for years and although its price point has gone through the roof for upgrading, I still think its the king of mindmap tools because of its versatility. :)

  • Re: Sermon Editor vs Sermon Starter Guide

Speaking of the Sermon Editor, I just discovered a very cool function this past weekend. When you create a Notes document, you can then simply click on the dropdown menu in that Notes document and choose to open it up in Sermon Editor which means (assuming you take good notes) half your work is already done in writing out your sermon. I'm sure many
