Once again refusing to index. When it was indexing, it just said it was indexing and didn't give the percentage done, as it usually does. Maybe I put a spanner in the works by restarting L5 to install a new ?vyrso resource it had downloaded. I'll try deleting the index again and restarting L5, and see what happens.... PS it now refuses to let me delete

  • Re: indexer stopped working

Have done - it's now indexing without any nasty messages. Many thanks for your help. It's so simple too (famous last words?). I'll update when indexing completes successfully - and if it doesn't, come to that! Incidentally is there anything I can easily do to correct the (very) minor irritation that L5 always opens non-full-screen (don't know the technical

  • Re: Memorization Tool

I discovered the memorisation tool, and rejoiced. I don't know if I shall use it, but it's good to know it's there. AT the moment I'm relearning chunks of Bible I learned and then gave up. I repeat what I've relearned when running around doing mindless jobs. I read a few verses (sometimes very few!) 5 or 10 times, looking at the text only when I need

  • Re: A Merry Russian Orthodox Christmas
Yes, that is the way it is presented in the Apocalypse.
That's what he said. He was an Orthodox theological student, who said his clothes were reeking of incense, which led to him getting heckled about incense by a protestant whose zeal exceeded his knowledge. So he gave the lad a lesson about what Revelation teaches

  • Re: A Merry Russian Orthodox Christmas

The explanation I heard for the smoke from the incense is that it represents the prayers of the faithful ascending to Heaven. I'll look up the video, for which recommendation many thanks, but later, as I need to be getting myself into town for Mass. For the first time in my 19 year memory of Albania it looks as if we shan't have snow over Christmas

  • Re: Have the Americans gone too far??!!

Is Vegemite what we call Marmite? Which I understand Americans don't like! An Albanian told me today that he prefers the American language to the English language. To which I replied that that's fine as we live in a pluralistic society. He at least realised that English and American are 2 separate languages, so we Brits don't need to accuse Americans

  • indexer stopped working

It seems that every time I open L5 I get a message from Windows saying the indexer has stopped working. When I close the window the indexer stops. What can I do? How much does it matter?

Thanks. Old computer with Vista had this problem. Newer computer with Win 7 was fine. Anyway, it doesn't worry me, as we get there in the end...

  • Re: 5.0a Service Release 3 (5.0.1.0278) available for download

Duly installed. But at the first attempt it said it could not be installed. After I rebooted and pressed the L5 button, it offered to install the update and duly did so without problems. I've had this hitch before. Can't remember if it was with L4 or L5 or both. Doesn't worry me, as it installs after reboot, but thought it was worth mentioning

I'm thrilled with L5. Much faster. I like the timeline, tho there's so much on it I give up before the end.

  • passage list - can I edit it?

Can I edit the verses displayed on my passage list? Or do I just have to remove them and enter the exact reference? I've been lazy and put ff instead of exact reference, and then got more than I wanted. I guess I need to sit down and watch Mark Barnes' video! Incidentally I like the memory option on the passage list. Thank you, Logos!

  • Re: why is Hebrew popping up in LXX?

Thanks for quick reply, Mick. I got rid of it eventually by right clicking the field titles to the left and getting rid of them one by one. Your method would have been quicker.
