But the first few centuries of the church didn't have Bible thumpers either. They had to get the job done with 'stories'.
I see a stark contrast. Those "stories" had a high content of "Thus Saith The Lord". If that were the case with the present storytellers, I would be the one saying, "And All Gods People Said, AMEN" !
Wow! I must have missed all that, and I read the forums several times a day. Sure, I noticed that some people vigorously defend their beliefs, but no one has been nearly as obnoxious as several forum regulars were a few years ago. Actually, I am more offended by those who continually invoke the forum guidelines whenever they

I don't think anyone objects to using illustrations to help understand/demonstrate Scripture. It becomes troubling when the rare inclusion of a Biblical text is an attempt to support one of a multitude of feel good illustrations.

I can't access the links. Are you asserting that this first debate took place in the time of Augustine?
Which is why the first recorded theological quarrel over Baptism debated whether it should take place on the 8th day, or directly after birth.
Would you share with me the details of this first recorded quarrel?
what I will call "water" rededication
I applaud you for your terminology. • Re: WARNING TO LOGOS—slow down

I have all but ceased my Logos purchases. One of the first steps toward this victory was the practice of having the money on hand when I made a purchase, and marking it "allocated" once the purchase was made. It's not mine to "borrow", No matter how long it takes to actually see the resource.
In a search scenario you could search this passage lists to find all occurrences of the Jesus usage of a particular greek word.
Thanks so much for taking the time to explain. I "assumed" the software would do this out of the box. I didn't see the benefit of having 3000 verses duplicated. Now I do. Thanks

In the highlight window, select the highlight you choose, Then right click and select "shortcut key" ... then assign a number or letter key. Now all you have to do is select text in Logos, and press that key.
