• Re: Linux version of Logos Bible Software

I have to admit i never participate in any real time chat room. One tool I know but has no experience is gitter. Seems like quite some open source projects like to use that. One possible organization structure would be to open a github repo, put the instruction to use Logos on Linux in the wiki in that repo, release the prebuilt binaries to github release

Why don’t just use the Faithlife social network? Not every people use Telegram, and by definition (of any one already participating here) they already have access to Faithlife.

If one wants to do that, they can run Chrome from the command line to start a session in app mode. That would be lighter since the resources are shared with other running Chrome instances including the web pages you're browsing.

Why is this ignored? At least they should explain why they think such a regression is ok.

Hi, the priority in my wish lists are all gone in the new site. This is quite troublesome since I don't remember my priorities...

The short summary is that there’s currently no way to run Logos desktop on Linux (other than VM because it is what it's designed for.) With VM, you need to have a Windows license. Also, you may need a license for the software as well. VirtualBox is free but performance is not good. Best currently is VMWare which supports graphical acceleration

Some people said that behavior is intentional. Just to emphasize that telling Bob only might not be a good strategy. Try to also include an employee in the loop.

I’m quite certain in order for Logos staff to help you, they need to to provide log. Search and find one of the page in logos.com to see how to do it. Did you make any change that would disable virtual memory a.k.a. swap? Since the you use fusion drive it could be the reason for it to be disabled even if you didn’t manually changed anything

May be a great news to some people here: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/commandline/shipping-a-linux-kernel-with-windows/ (If anything at least it shows not even microsoft can ignore Linux.)

I'm not talking about that. I'm saying something like Steam offering a SteamOS, or Kodi offering a Kodibuntu. Like Kodibuntu, Logos can be the desktop to log in, instead of logging into some desktop and open Logos. i.e. Logos can be something some people only use (well some sort of browser is needed but given Logos already has a wikipedia module it

Recently Duet also gained hardware acceleration, but I don't have the Luna hardware so I haven't compared them. The wireless capability of Luna always intrigue me but I've heard that isn't reliable on some WiFi situation. Eg have you tried using it under public WiFi (often throttled) or enterprise WiFi (often limit how devices might communicate with
My previous post got deleted, but I already use desktop Logos on my iPad Pro. Basically I use the iPad as a second monitor, but I can be in another room. I use the Apple Pencil for highlighting and read my personal books on my iPad. Doesn’t help with traveling but it’s much better than sitting at a desk. [/quote
The unification element the user above posted about. Marzipan (one development app for iOS and MacOS) is supposed to be much more prevalent in ios13. If this is the case, Logos may be able to develop a MacOS app that works on iOS or vice versa. We shall see how intertwined the two really will become.
If you understand
