Seems as though market success and dominance brings higher suggested retail prices with no discounts. Freedom at work I suppose...[:'(]

  • Re: Is Logos 4 theologically biased?

A simple observation about the nature of both the general theological orientation of the libraries available (i.e. company) and what is in those library is not an open ended invitation to either defend or attack Logos. It is not my place to investigate Logos, other publishers, availability of theological resources, motivations of publishers, or industry

Without regard to who published the particular set of journals Galaxie reflects, I believe, the general theological approach that Logos has. Plus the search results that I noted didn't were not in the Galaxie material rather they hits which were no more than bare mentions mostly in dictionaries. In terms of back-wood publishers money is money for a

While I don't think that the programmers themselves stack the deck in the way the program responds to a general search there does seem to be some serious bias's related to the library material. In a Scholar package with all available Galaxie journals (some 1600 resources) try running a search on Paul Tillich or Christian Existentialism...perhaps 3 hits

  • Re: Expiring Discounts & Still Only an Alpha?

I'm not arguing if Logos is or is not up front about their use of customers for their beta testing on the Mac platform. What I am responding to is the ebb and flow of this, and several threads, that appears to handle product complaints with either be nice because were Christians or the love it or leave it approach because Logos is a business. I do believe

Its kind of funny to see arguments on "christian" business's I think. If the argument is that the business model is inadequate then there is often a shift to a sort of "well its a christian" endeavour play with love and charity. If the argument goes the way of questioning the business model on christiand ground there appears to be a shift to "well this

I would hope to see the full systematic works of Paul Tillich in Logos format...and perhaps some of the other works on culture and history of theology.

  • Re: If I had a million dollars (to grow Logos Bible Software)...

I must say that I haven't used my Logos in a doctoral program for about 3 years and only came back to it because the competition dont have the journal base (i.e. Galaxie products). From my perspective more marketing, free programs, more cutting edge bells and whistles, more pressure to upgrade to packages with thousands of items I dont need, and public

Perhaps we should just give up on L4 and move onto L5 with its emphasis on the world wide Logos neural network that will send out terminators to help eliminate human problems with the interface....just a thought...

  • Collection Definitions

I was wondering if there is a way to transfer my defined collections from my destk top to my lap top computer without going through the whole process again? Perhaps copying a set of files from one computer to another.

I will leave this issue after this post. Indeed it is bad form to spam a forum made to promote a publisher and its products. Catching such issues does help to keep forums clean from endless posting that serve as a form of self-promotion. The notion that someone is "hostile" to catholics as a reason to limit their posts in the diverse world we live in

I've kind of followed this thread with a bit of interest. I understand that the web site is sponsored by Logos and those who participate do so as quests and should behave with a high level of decorum. However, I am curious as to why the op should not be allowed to express his/her work within the Logos universe given the dominate nature of this company

  • Re: Why isn't Community Pricing more popular?

To be honest I haven't used my Logos stuff for several years and haven't posted much in the forums. The reason that I don't use Community Pricing, or pre-pub much is that I don't have a need to keep putting bills on my credit card. I have about 1600 resources now and find that is more than enough to help finish my D. Min. I'm not really sure why I would
