  • Re: New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties

Thank you all for your replies. I have gone online and put in my order for New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties for when it comes out. From your recommendations, I am excited about its release. I considered the Essential IVP package, but the price might hold me back (unless you feel all other items that come with it are REALLY worth

  • New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties

Hello: Any recommendations to a good book that discusses Bible paradoxes / difficulties? For example: Judas Iscariot recorded as dying two different ways, why one synoptic gospel lists only one demon possessed man at Gadarenes while the other lists two demon possessed men, etc... I'm open to all suggestions. I see that L4 has a book, " New International

  • Categorizations!!

Hello: I was requested to post a note from someone in your friendly technical support group. I just purchased L4 and would like to make a couple of very simple recommendations. I purchased Logos for one reason: To help me categorize the Bible to get to know it better. This includes the ability to highlight, make notes, add verses to particular categories

  • Sync Speed

Hello: I just purchased L4 a few weeks ago (and feel like I've had it forever as I use it every waking moment when not at work). I notice speed problems with my computer even though I have a new computer with plenty of speed (quad-core, 4GB RAM, 3.6Ghz, 4 Terabytes of memory (7200RPM), etc ... One thing that I notice that seems to slow down the software

Hi Dominic: How can one search through an entire book (instead of just the first few pages) on Amazon.com? I didn't know one could do this. Thank you.

Hello all: Thank you everyone for all of your posts. They have been very helpful. I really appreciate the link to the catechism (I have added this as a link in my Logos to take me there at the click of a button). I also appreciate the suggestion on the Ron Rhodes books. I looked into them and will have to go with paper books (after Logos ... what is

Hello Dominick (and all): I just wanted to thank you for your reply. I found it to be very well thought out and well worded. I also appreciate all other responses I have received. I certainly know that this is a touchy subject (as stated in my original email) and that I can only pray that no one was offended (also as stated in my original email). I

  • Re: Roman Catholic Resources - Help

Hi Damian: To keep it simple ... I'm attempting to find a L4 resource that discusses Roman theology (all items in your above list) and its scriptural support of the reasons why they believe what they believe. For example only: A Catholic resource / commentary that shows a Roman understanding of Romans 4:2-6 to see how they explain away imputational

Hey MJ: Thank you for replying. My goal, of course, is not to enter into discussion (just because this might not be the appropriate forum) of which side is accurate and pray you were not offended by my stance. I am familiar with Scott Hahn (my niece goes to Stuebenville) and have actually spoken with Mark Shea at length and I appreciate your recommendations

  • Roman Catholic Resources - Help

Hello: I just purchased L4 Silver and am now in search of more resources ... some that are geared specifically toward addressing the serious issues of Catholicism. I am looking for a Biblical perspective from both positions (preferably non-biased). I am originally Catholic and years ago, left the church due to not being able to personally "Biblically

Hey, you guys have been great as always. I really appreciate this Blog and the great help I've received so far. I've implemented many of your ideas and I'm with you in cheering on tech support to gain a more user friendly system to make simple changes to text (such as highlighting and annotating). Thank you much and Lord bless. David

  • Basic Stuff

Hello everyone: You all have been such a wealth of information that I thought I would beg of your time once again. I just purchased Scholars Silver and have made it through the tutorials but without a manual, I think I am missing some "basic" navigation rules. Things that I would consider to be very common and I'm sure Logos offers it (I hope), but

  • SPEED

Hello: I'm new to Logos. Just purchased the Scholar's Silver and am thinking of upgrading to the Platinum, but noticed that my Logos ran quickly until I started adding so many tabs. Now I know that if I remove tabs, it will run quicker, but I prefer not to remove the tabs as they are very helpful where they are. Kindly advise on what I should do to

Just as an fyi ... based on all of your advice, I ordered the Scholar's Silver. I was about an inch and a half from going platinum, but couldn't take the additional cost right now but may soon reconsider and move up. Dave Kaplan at Logos was the best and helped me through the process. I look forward to future blogs and conversations with you. In Christ

Hello all: I just wanted to thank everyone today for the great advice. It sounds like the Scholar's library is where I may start, but I REALLY did like the BDAG tutorial that I viewed. Wow. Nice. I may get that as an addition as I see that the BDAG only comes 'included' on the $1k packages. I will contact Customer Service tomorrow morning as suggested

This is all very helpful and I appreciate everyone's input and time. You've been a great help. I will contact a rep tomorrow and was hoping that their sale wouldn't end this evening (my luck). I'm glad it goes until the end of the month. I am serious about my studies and plan to use Logos extensively but hope the learning curve isn't too long as I look

Hi Kevin: Your reply is most appreciated. I would be interested in conversing "off-line" if you feel this may help. As far as the original languages, I have used interlinear bibles (print) in the past and have looked up original words, but I do not have a strong working knowledge of Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic. My original thought was to start with the

Hi Mark: You recommended the Scholar's edition (which money is not the object and I am truly looking for the best that I will "need" ... without paying for things that I may never need or read through). The question I have about this version is that I see that there are mulitple "Scholars editions". In your recommendation, I would assume you are referring

  • Which version is right for me??

HELP! :) I have heard about Logos and have investigated the website and would like to purchase but am at a loss for which version is the right one for me. I am a layman with a love for the Word of God ... to a point of enjoying exegetical studies, pulling verses apart, reviewing original languages for true meanings, researching how many times the use
