  • Re: Libronix 3g Install disk - is there a download available?

Dave, Thanks for the zip link. I have downloaded it for future use but I am not sure what it is. Am I right in thinking that it is a zipped installation packet of LDLS 3.0g?

Thanks Dave, especially for the info about IE9 still being supported by MS. I will stick with IE9.

I think to download and install Mozilla Fox as a 2nd browser to use for surfing the internet. It receives regular security updates so would be safer than using IE9 since MS would probably not be releasing security updates for it after the release of IE10. Does anyone know for sure what MS plans to do regarding security updates for IE9 after its release

Now that’s disappointing news. I was looking forward to downloading and installing IE10. I don’t understand your saying that IE9 is the engine for Libronix. I thought each ‘version’ of Logos had its own engine.

Dave, Thanks for the tip. I did not know that Win8 is not compatible with Libronix 3 but it does not surprise me. One ofthe main problems with updating an OS is that you could find yourself unable to use valuable software. I have both Win7 Ultimate and Vista Ultimate. Libronix 3 is compatible with both so I will stick with them.

Thank you for all the work that you put into your reply -the graphs and charts as well as the information. I will not be upgrading from Logos 3. I have reached the saturation point for both printed as well as electronic resources. What I must now do is to make good use of what I already have. BTW, I have pretty much decided NOT to upgrade my operating

Keep Smiling for Jesus: Thanks for the links and the information. One of my main considerations for retaining Win7 is its XP Mode. I have an Epson photo scanner that is in perfect condition that will not run under Vista or Win7.

Tom, I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Are you saying that the engine that runs Logos 5 is going to be a free offer to Logos 3 users? I have no intention of buying Logos 5.

Thanks for your reply. To date I have not used the workspace much so not having it in Win8 would not be a noticeable inconvenience.

  • Logos 3 & Windows 8

Hello forum, I am considering purchasing a new computer and installing Win8 on it. If I do this I would move Logos 3 to the new computer. My question is this, has anyone be using Logos 3 on a pc with Win8 as its operating system? If so, have you experienced any difficulties in compatability? Also, if you know of any previous posts on this subject please

Thank you Pam. I will use that link this evening. To all of you who have replied to my original post I say THANK YOU! Thanks to you I have a lot more information than I had previously and enough tips and names of resources to research the topic further on my own.

Sorry David, for the misunderstanding . The links that you've provided are very much appreciated. I have given them a quick glance for now but will be DEFINITELY looking at them more closely later, particularly the google book. This is turning into quite an interesting, fact finding venture.

David Knoll, luckily I have "The History of the Christian Church" and I've read the reference that you have given. However, I failed to see any reference to the Ismaelites and/or their residence in Spain. As for reading a good book about Islam, well, with my present work schedule and current readings it will be awhile before I have the time to start

I am of the same thinking as you, namely, that I will find many conflicting statements. Unfortuantely this is nothing new in researching many subjects. I will be satisfied in researching the subject and coming as close to an objective, unbiased conclusion as possible. It will take much time and effort but it's worth it. Many thanks.

Thank you Denise for your reply. Unfortuantely I do not have a printed copy of The Encyclopedia of Christianity and after checking my Logos Library I find that I don't have an electronic copy either. I am presently googling to see if I can find a copy of it online. Your help is much appreciated

  • Factual, historical origin of the Palestinians

Greetings, I was in discussion the other day with a fellow Christian colleague who said that the Palestinians residing in Israel today are the descendants of the biblical Ismaelites. I disagree with him but since I could not base my opinion upon factual, historical information I told him that I would research the subject and advised him to do the same
