  • Re: Can't add more Bibles to my Mac Logos 4?

Try sorting your library by ty;e and look for Bibles. It's there as "English Standard Version". I find that the search doesn't always work correctly.

  • Re: Advice on What to Choose

Jack, Thanks for the correction. It's hard to believe I could use the product for 2 years and not see how to a search of all resources. Then again, I really never looked that hard to figure it out. Somehow I got it in my thick skull that it didn't work that way. Thanks for causing me to be enlightened.

Christopher, As a 2 year user of Accordance and a less than a month user of Logos 4 Mac Alphas, I would say Todd's advice is right on. I am retired and love to get into the word and develop a deeper understanding. I am interested in the scriptures themselves, commentaries, maps, timelines, art, etc., not at all a scholarly study as many of the power

  • Re: Buy now or wait?

There are no guarantees to be sure, but some of us have some success running L4 Mac. Alpha 5 runs fairly well on my iMac 27 with 10.6.2. By "fairly well" I mean that it has downloaded most of my resources and completed indexing. I can do a Passage Guide search and it searches my commentaries and media, but nothing else, not even bibles. But...I can

  • Re: Preparing your library???

If you will permit me, let me give you a new Logos user's perspective. I only discovered Logos 4 because I spotted their Mac announcement in some Mac news article. I found their Mac alpha disclaimer perfectly clear, although it may have sounded too optimistic for inexperienced computer users. Why did I purchase the Bible Study Library knowing the program

  • Re: A5-Passage Guide Results are Full of Junk

Joe, FWIW, I just did the same Romans 4 search that you did and my results look very much like the example you show for 1.2.2 (although I have less resources than you, it found 12).

  • Re: A5-Images of the Holy Land Navigation Problem

Joe Miller, I noticed that you have the resource "Images of the Holy Lands". I recently purchased the Bible Study Library and am missing about 60 resources, one of them being the one in your example. Am I missing those resources because it's just one of those "alpha issues" or should I have all 300 resources even if it IS an alpha that we're testing

I see you picked up on how I used a minor problem with the Core 2 Duo iMac to justify a $500 upgrade. Pretty clever, huh? • Re: Recommended/Ideal Mac Hardware

FYI, I finally called Logos to see if they had any hardware related info other than their minimum and recommended requirements. What I was told that, although Logos 4 Mac will run on the published requirements, the unpublished "optimal requirements" are a Core i7 quad core. Bottom line is that, if you want the fastest performance possible, Logos 4 Mac

I startup without a crash and can open anything without a problem. When I start the program, it always starts with a blank home page. How do you "choose a blank interface on startup"? I curious and trying to learn although this obviously doesn't help you. After reading every post in this forum, it's clear that nothing is clear. For some mysterious reason

  • Recommended/Ideal Mac Hardware

I purchased a new 27" iMac 3.06 Core 2 Duo just a few days before I discovered Logos 4 for Mac (I'm currently using Accordance). I purchased Logos 4 Bible Study package and I'm wondering if the Mac development staff can tell me if I should stay with the Core 2 Duo or (I have 4 days yet to return it) or if Logos 4 Mac will benefit significantly with

  • Re: Passage

I'm able to open all the tools without crashing, but some selections just do nothing except open a new pane. When I select from the list that populates below the search bar, all that is found is a pane of "Media Resources." The program doesn't do much, but I'm happy just to be able to read most of my ebooks (about 50 never downloaded out of 300). Let

  • Re: Logos 4 Mac Alpha will not load

Donovan, I'm a first time purchaser of Logos 4 for the Mac and initially had the same issue as many others here, namely not getting past the "logging in". When I ordered the product a few days ago, I asked to be sent the DVD also. Installed it last night and the same result. Then I called Support and he was great. Somehow he managed to activate my license

  • Logos 4 Alpha 2 Strange Behavior

I did a fresh install of Logos 4 Alpha 2. When I started the program, it showed "logging in" and then the blue/white spiral stopped and that was that. Activity Monitor showed Logos 4 "not responding". I would have attached a screenshot along with the log, but I couldn't figure out how to attach 2 files. What surprised me is that, even though Logos 4

I sincerely apologize for my emotional comment. I want to send you my log file, but I must ashamedly admit that I don't see how to attach a file to a forum post like this. Please tell me how to do that. Thanks!

An addon to my previous post. Activity Monitor shows the Logos app "not responding", but the log shows activity. Does anyone know the name of the process that is doing the downloading? This is really not the way to write software.

  • Re: Having trouble with Mac Alpha?

Why oh why have you written Logos alpha 2 to download in the background with no indication anywhere that it's doing anything but freezing or looping? If I didn't know where the log was, I would never know anything was downloading. I have no indicator in my menu bar. Does everyone else have the so-called blue download icon in their menubar? Also, is

Just followed the advice of someone else in this forum and removed everything Logos, restarted my iMac and reinstalled alpha 2 again. Started it and the same thing happened: froze on "checking for updates" and had to force quit. Disappointed it won't even run. Makes me wonder why I plunked down hundreds of dollars now instead of waiting for a version

Just download alpha 2, installed, started, logged in, program said "checking for updates" and froze (Activity Monitor indicated Logos 4 Mac "not responding"). Force Quit. Restarted. This time program froze on "logging in". I'm excited about trying to be a first time Logos user, but so far I have to wonder why these alphas are being released when they

I just purchased Logos 4 (LE) for Mac last night and left the program running all night. What's really odd is that there is still no blue Logos icon in the menu bar, but the Logos4.log shows activity. There are no resources downloaded. I'm very curious as to how long I should let this run since I found no forum post with this problem (download activity
