  • Re: Logos only lets your transfer book Licenses once???

David Dobbs: Well if Logos does ever become Logosflix, I am claiming royalties. Because you all just witnessed it here that I came up with the idea. I think 3% of sales would suffice . No, you didn't! http://community.logos.com/forums/p/50184/380033.aspx#380033 Well, I still came up with the name, "Logosflix" which should definitely be used. So I guess

Another good book to probably add to this collection would probably be: Correcting the Cults: Expert Responses to Scripture Twisting by Norman L. Geisler and Ron Rhodes

Here is a crazy thought. Could it be that logos has become too big? Do they really need this much staff to produce their software? Could they produce the same product without all the overhead? It seems to me, the more logos grows staff wise, the more products they will have to sell to pay their bills. Also the cost of books will go up and the more squeeze

I too wish logos could afford to allow their customers to do both buy and sale their products. Maybe if logos was a publisher they could afford to allow their customers this freedom but they are not. Instead they are a middle man that compiles published books into software and sales them to other people for a profit. Publishers have to make money off

By the way ST, I understand your point about "liquid investments" and it is a good point. But we also have to understand logos has to make a profit and pay their employees or quality will be reduced or worst case scenario, they go belly up. The last thing we want is logos to become a trading post. If so, all logos customers will be hurt.

Erik and Tony, I really appreciated both of your explanations on how book licensing works. So here is my question though? For someone who is considering replacing their paper library with and an electronic library like logos, how secure is our investment? If I spend $1700 on a New International Commentary set with Logos, how secure is that investment

By the way, if this thread is ever canceled, someone please start a new thread picking up where this one left off. This really is an important issue and just saying, "we will do the right thing" does not fix the problem. This discussion needs to continue until this license issue is completely resolved and clearly stated for us all to see. Everyone should

From what Bob has communicated, it seems to me Logos only wants to allow people to transfer whole libraries not individual books or even sets of books. Which seems ok to me, especially seeing how time consuming the transfer process is. Though I do wish it wasn't so tedious because I think the ability to transfer a book license is great perk for logos

Welcome to the forums, Helen. I must say you hit the ground running. You seem very attuned to the environment. I am actually new to the Logos world. I don't own any software yet but I am currently being trained in how to use it. It is an excellent program. I am amazed at what it all can do. And I must confess, this topic is very interesting to me. If

Sorry to reopen this can of worms again. But Bob, does the "Right Thing" mean sometime logos might transfer a book license more than once and sometimes they might not depending on the situation, person, or possible abuse?

Did Bob ever explain the, "Once transferred, items may not be transferred again" quote? Has it been confirmed that this is logos policy or is it not?
