And it works! Thanks much. What a bizarre little bug... thanks to Martin for squashing it!
-
After re-install, it still breaks, but the workaround works, and I got done what I needed to. Thanks much! John

Interesting! I'll give that a try once Logos is done re-installing. I decided to nuke it and reinstall to see if perhaps it was a problem with the frameworks, etc. Glad you were able to reproduce it and find a workaround! Thanks!

I have tried it in a variety of layouts, ranging from my typical full exegetical mess to just a blank layout with only the Copy Bible Verses tool open. I've tried floating that panel, and doing it with Logos maximized (my usual running mode) or not. For me, it never works. Puzzling.

For your viewing pleasure: http://screencast.com/t/7cUjrYar3ezK You have to keep your eye on the place where the style editing box will appear, but in the video you can see the text flash there and then disappear.
-
When I right-click on a style to edit it, the editing box opens and I see the style code momentarily. It then disappears (blank box) and I can find no way to make it reappear (resizing window, trying to select in the box, etc.) I am running Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.2 (had this problem under previous release) and Logos 6.8.0.49 (also had this problem

Yes, increasingly I have to do the old Windows "reboot and try again" trick on Mac. Alas, through multiple reboots of machine and software (including with blank layouts), I get the same behavior. Puzzling. Seems like a problem (almost like a race condition) with the UI layer. Anyway, thanks, Mike, for checking out my problem.

Thanks, Mike! Perhaps I shall wait for the next El Capitan bump and see if that fixes it. I'm not quite so inclined to run those Betas.

Could one of the other Mac users (or even better, someone from Logos) please try to reproduce this? Open "Copy Bible Verses," select a style (Simple Paragraphs, e.g.) and try to edit it. When I do this, I see the content in the edit box briefly, but then it disappears, leaving me unable to edit it. I don't see anything in the logs. I am at a loss as

I discovered this morning that I can very briefly see content in the style editing box, but it disappears almost immediately and there is no way even to get the cursor to snap to the box. The logs show nothing of interest. I can create new styles and they appear in my Logos documents online, but there is no way to edit them. Can anyone else reproduce
-
Yes, to no avail.
-
I should have noted that I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.1.
-
When I try to pull up a style to edit it, I get a blank, un-editable edit box. I remember this working in the past. Is something broken, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks! John

Hooray! Thanks!

Here's a screenshot. I am looking for the verb NZR (keep separate, etc.). Thanks! 2402.logos-nzr.tiff

FWIW, this is still an issue in 5.2 SR-6 (5.2.0.0136).
-
Thanks, Dave and Jack, for trying to reproduce. I didn't even venture to try another verb when the first one I tried hung it. Who knew? Must be something different about drawing the results for NZR, and on a Mac, nonetheless. Perhaps interestingly, NZR has the same behavior if the analysis is run with BHS/Westminster 4.2. It is indeed quite "exclusive

I doubt the SQLite message is a "real" problem. At best it seems to point out a potential one, although I cannot find on my system how there is actually more than one link to catalog.db. Perhaps it's an overactive warning system. I included the stack traces since this seems to be an infinite loop of some kind. That information (of where it got "stuck

FWIW, here are the logs. These are from a "blank layout" and working offline, to minimize other variables. Running 5.2 SR-5 on OS X Mavericks, a Hebrew morph search for the verb NZR (type in h:nzr and select verb) works in "Verse" view but pegs the CPU, apparently forever, in "Analysis" view. Greek analysis view works fine. Can anyone else reproduce this? I've included below a trace of the call graph from Activity Monitor. It seems the hang-up is somewhere
