  • Logos V6 Mac Downloading fixed, now PLS FIX INDEXING

Just downloaded 1.3GB of resources to Logos v6. I've been using it since day one (actually started the initial download within a few hours of new V6 being available and finally using it 3 days later). The previous culprits preventing me from having a GREAT user experience were two fold: Download Time and Indexing (re-indexing) Time. For background,

  • Re: BUG: Visual Copy in Logos 6 keeps freezing the program

Please push this fix. This happened to me at Starbucks and I could easily replicate when I logged in... turned of my internet connection and watch Logos TRY to load for over 5 minutes before stalling. See the time difference?

  • Re: Logos 6 - CRASH (Mac, Yosemite User)

Thanks Dave. It's almost like I need to dedicate my computer to Logos. What a beast (in a positive sense). That's why I believe their indexing needs improvements. Doesn't appear they did anything to address it. Perhaps that's why I had the crash. I really think they need update their short term warning message. 1) Why doesn't it look at available resources

You're right. I don't understand the logging tool. It's not clear how it works. Take a look at the main screen - with fresh eyes. The message it shows when the Logos application is closed should be fixed/updated. Suggestion: If Logos unexpectedly closed during the last session, Click Archive Logs now to save the report and submit the log for technical

Well, I couldn't edit OR delete my post. Only options are reply or more (Report Abuse, Add post to Fav, Add this forum as a Fav... no edit method.). Perhaps an admin can do so without labeling it abuse b/c I didn't know posting an Apple crash log as text was inappropriate. Other forums collapse the post if too long for others trying to read. I did want

  • Re: Logos 6 - CRASH (Mac, Yosemite User)

I will delete my previous post. However, if I thought I was expecting a crash, I would have the logging tool open. Users should never have to use that tool... so it wasn't open. So for you and your request, I will remove my post. And if I experience another crash, I will try to log it. But that's not my job. It shouldn't be my job and I am not happy

  • Logos 6 - CRASH (Mac, Yosemite User)

I did a search for "Plato" in the top command bar on the main page as I was looking for a timeline map that shows Socrates, Plato, Aristotle... and CRASH. I am at a Starbucks so internet is slooooow. But no idea what happened.

  • Re: BUG? LogosCEF not responding

I use firefox... I reported this issue too. I think further investigation from Logos is required. There should never be an app not responding. Period.

  • Re: Bug: Menu Bar Logos Icon not real time

Major indexing issue I've had with an upgrade to V6 then I from Silver to Platinum - at the same time. All out of whack. Took over 24 hours and lots of pain of restarting... to get it right. Then each day, it's been taking a good hour or so to download, install and reindex the incrementals. Here's my other post: https://community.logos.com/forums/p

  • Bug: Menu Bar Logos Icon not real time

In the process of logging my indexing woes, I came across another buggy issue. The blue Logos icon is not real time. How I discovered this is after restarting after another DAILY update, it went to index yet again the updated material. This time I checked the blue icon on top for status. It first said step 1 of 3 - installing download (or something

Thanks @Dave Hootan. You're like a legend around here - hahaha. Well, I've actually read some posts of yours when I first got up and running last month and recall seeing you from last year when I first considered going with Logos V5. My needs changed and it became a necessity which is great. Anyways, I changed the download settings. Good call. I suggested

Thanks Gregw - that was fast, thx TCBlack. I've included my logs from installation and indexing I encountered the first two days. Hope it saved it properly. During the next download and indexing, I will track and upload that file. An additional comment. Today, it threw an error the last time around after a few program failed and I rebooted my machine

UPDATE: Four days into Logos 6. Still not able to use, enjoy b/c of updates & reindexing. Annoying! I LOVE some of the new features. Well done Logos. However, I still think you've got issues that should have been addressed. Especially with indexing. Over the past three days (yes, it took over 24 hours to get my computer updated and upgraded), it's taking

Thanks Abondservant. I am loving the fresher layout and new features. Just wish there was a better way to do the update. Their secure wifi connection issue should be addressed for other Mac users. Overall, most of my poor experiences could have been avoided in many regards (as I suggested). Hoping, if for nothing else, that my improvement suggestions

FINALLY. The longest update I've ever done. It's over. DONE. FINISHED... I hope. Conclusion: 1) If you have a Macbook Air and cannot jump on an ethernet connection, tough beans. It will be the most frustrating download experience - ever. Somehow I don't remember going through the slow pain the first time - 35 days ago. You too may just pull your hair

GOOD NEWS. After all my indexing woes... I found a way to pause the indexing. Cancelled the download and the triangle icon then showed it WAS indexing. The message changed after I stopped the download and it showed I could click to stop the indexing. So I stopped it... and went to do the next download. My issue with download speeds seems to be that

Thanks GregW. I do see that after closing - again - and reopening. Here's the message. However, within a minute, it closed the yellow bar and the top message just showed it was downloading - again. Only good news is that the last time it started at 0% and I left it there for 10 mins... nothing. Closed and reopened and it's already at 1%. Sorry, that

I just spoke too soon. Another round of files downloading... I think this is the 4th major download. This time it's 629.2MB. Lovely. Hit snooze and wake me up when it's done. Maybe I will have a working program next week... At this rate, my computer may just die. It can't be good for the CPU and fans. Come on Team Logos. Dave

  • Re: Upgrade Logos: v5 > v6 ...plus... Upgrade Library: Silver>Platinum

Two hours after posting this message, my 700mb files are in my library. Total count is now 1524 resources. Says it needs to index - BUT nothing shows me it's indexing. No spinning wheel or progress bar. Yet my fans are a blazing still. CPU for Indexer is 140-160%... so it appears to be indexing based on my technical digging but the application says

  • Upgrade Logos: v5 > v6 ...plus... Upgrade Library: Silver>Platinum

I took the plunge the minute version 6 appeared to hit yesterday morning 10/27. I called and got my upgrade (purchased 33 days ago) and had the Silver library. I was feeling bold and decided to also upgrade to Platinum. Background: Macbook Air 2011, 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7 4GB Ram and 256 SSD HD. OSX 10.10 Yosemite... So a decent machine ready to handle
