I'd recommend a laptop with an SSD (Solid State Disk.) I'm using one with a nice little i5, 4GB of RAM. I did have Logos on a Core2 with 8GB of RAM and while the RAM helped a little, the SSD (in this case a 2 x 64GB raid in a Sony Z11) really made a huge difference in performance of Logos 4. My workstation has an i7 with 12GB of RAM, but the Sony with

Not to derail the conversation, nor start down an iPad vs. Kindle discussion, the a critical value to Logos to me is the automatic coordination of resources (e.g. bibles with commentary and each other.) I do have a Kindle DX (which I love and use considerable for when just reading books "linearly", that is from start to finish) but I wouldn't see it

[quote user="Douglas A. I used "G:\Logos" Repeat for each book In L4 run the command; "Scan G:\Logos" Restart L4 (The books showed up, but it didn't index

What I learned is that the "scan x:\" command does not seem to load resources when the indexer is running.
Tom, thank you for this. I will try to keep it in mind. I'm not sure that anyone has specifically stated it before. Thanks again
At this point its only a theory. ;) The Scan command
I am really getting frustrated with Logos. Can anyone tell me how to stop the indexing so I can try the fix?
If you have the little Logos icon in your tray (usually on the right side of the bottom bar--it may be hidden so there could be an arrow pointing left or up depending on Windows version--click the

I use Olive Tree for NIV on the iPhone. There are couple of others that have the NIV for the iPhone. Not sure why Logos hasn't brought this conclusion--Zondervan is obviously licensing both NIV and NIV Study notes for iPhone and other mobile devices. -T
I wonder if they will consider just letting Logos Now be an option as features only or give a discount from the price because like many others I own pretty much all the resources in the "cloud library"
Me too. I subscribed to LN for the product features. I own most of the cloud books and don’t see the point of

The SB2 comes in different models, the higher end model uses 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U (quad-core) with up to 4.20 GHz Max Turbo. Microsoft uses a number of techniques to maximize run time. Out of the box, SB2's are set for middle-of-the road performance which reduces drain speed on battery and increases recharge speed when connected to power. There

Documents can quickly be prepared from HTML, Word and PDF for Kindle with Mobipocket creator (free.) http://www.mobipocket.com/en/downloadSoft/ProductDetailsCreator.asp You can also make documents with active links from HTML and Word sources. (Mobi format is a flavor of Kindle's native document format which Kindles recognize.) I cut and paste a lot

Oddly, I have two Louis Berkhoff's in my library when sorted by author.
One has a period after his name and needs correcting by Logos.

However, this fix does not seem universal (it worked correctly on my workstation, but does not seem to apply properly on my netbook.)
Without wondering why it does not apply (?) you can work offline on the Netbook ie. start L4 whilst holding Ctrl key down and select Work Offline . I'm in the same boat. L4 keeps wanting to download 18.3 MB of resources (Berkhoff) but it never downloads right and keeps trying to download again. Massive indexing has also started on my netbook. Very annoying and makes me start rethinking how many more resources I want to add to my Logos4 given the issues with performance.

I have a 128GB SSD in my Sony Vaio. (It's a 2 x64gb with integrated striped RAID 0 in a SATA form-factor) Windows experience index for Primary HD is 7.6 which is up from 5.5 on my previous notebook. I feel that Logos4 does really well with this setup. The Passage Guide, for example is quite snappy. Compared to the other notebooks (a Toshiba Netbook

I had this on a previous update. I ended up fixing by: Delete the Logos app Shutdown ipad and restart Download the logos app Login as normal and resync the books you want on the iPad. (Brute force, but it worked.) -Tom

Accordance just released their iPad app. It too, supports the NIV (if you have licensed it for Accordance 8 or 9.)

Running Logos 4 from an SSD was what made the most difference for me. Fast computers do help, but using an SSD-based laptop really changed how I used Logos4. Once I had Logos4 up to speed it's auto-searching was a joy to have at my fingertips. -T

Bob, thanks for the transparency. I am concerned by the "subscription model" approach and would rather Logos focus on ensuring the permanence of books I own and will own in the future. The launch of Logos 6 (as with Logos 5) ultimately required me wiping my existing library and re-downloading from scratch. I know this must be "my problem" (even thought

Downloaded the update and then the resource updates in about 15 minutes. Currently chugging through what appears a long index cycle.
