All comments are helpful.
Well, In that case ..... Both the surface 3 and the various iPads are overpriced for what they can accomplish. (Focusing mainly on a machine to run Logos) The earlier versions of 8 inch Windows tablets with Atom processors are a much better value. If you get the 64G version, it It will run the full
But why not just get an iPad (or an iPad Pro!)?
Agreed. If you can't use it as an ultra-portable, temporary, off-line, full function desktop replacement, You might as well scale down and settle for an Apple.

That totally negates the main function the Windows tablets can laud over the other options. ...The ability to have an ultra portable copy of ones library available off the grid. I have a dead tree version that my mother gave me when I was a teen. It was the cat's meow back then. Over time it has become a very cherished paperweight. There are much better resources available now. (NTSK etc.) I can't imagine using The Thompson reference, even if I could buy it cheap in Logos.
The Surface 3 has one of a newer generation of Atom processors that are a step up from what the Dell Venue 8 Pro and similar 8 inch Windows tablets have.
I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing it out. I certainly wouldn't want to mislead anyone.
Any thoughts from existing owners of the Dells?
The Dell Venue 8 Pro 64 GB with 2 GB ram runs Logos just fine. It shares the same Atom processor. I wondered if they had truly addressed the speed issues, or if folks had just resigned themselves to them. Seems the latter is the case. Thanks for the snarky post.

I consider this the best bargain to come down the pike in quite a while. I think if you miss it you will regret it.

There is a huge di fference in applying snark, and jumping the snark. TOP DEFINITION: Jumped the snark The moment in which a snide remark, i.e. snark, makes little sense and/or is done just for the purpose of getting attention.
